Quick Thoughts - Hawks vs Crows
General - 3 quarters of track work and a football game accidentally broke out in the 4th, amazing the Crows lost it because the Hawks were a complete mess, big coaching move of putting TOB back really did change the game. Ugly low pressure basketball in the first 2.5 quarters but really intense game in the last quarter was fun to watch.
Hawks - They stole this. They had no composure, no answers and no structure for the first 2.5 quarters and allowed the Crows to walk all over them and then all of a sudden Mitchell and O'Meara rock up in the middle, they threw TOB behind the ball and they just looked a different team.
O'Meara - Massive game from him, deserves all the ratio as his 2nd half was enormous. Sneaky premium so far.
Kosi - Of course he did the week I back him to not beat Chapman by enough to be worth it and when everyone else will be fielding him... Well, we have a cash cow at least.
Mitchell - Ratio tough for mine, was huge in the 2nd half with key plays and helped them win the game.
Phillips - Just went totally missing for a quarter and a bit but was otherwise actually pretty good. Clarko seemed to be playing musical chairs with the wingers and he copped it in Q2.
McEvoy - Solid but beaten by ROB at the end of the day.
Jiath - He was really solid, pivotal in several Hawks goals and just played well.
Impey - Enormous last quarter and 2nd half in general to pull out a genuinely good score. Keeps delivering even when he looks done.
Wingard - Stuck forward a lot in this game and this is what happens when he's not in the midfield enough.
Crows - Will not be happy. Going to be a real story about their sub decision as they had Lynch essentially sitting in the stands and then when they needed him he had to dress, warm up and get medical treatment before he could take the field putting them a player down for 10 minutes and just looking a joke. Just an amazing choke job though, when the pressure lifted from the Hawks the Crows just seemed to think the game was already safe and didn't go with it nearly enough.
Keays - Enormous game from him but missed a really important shot at goal late that would have won it. Still, lapping it up without Sloane.
Laird - Same old for him, just solid as ever.
ROB - Strong game, big last quarter for him, looks to have refound his ability.
Thilthorpe - Massive game, hard to tell if other teams will man him with a small defender and let him have his way but he moves really well, finishes well and hits the ball hard. I'd bet good money this is his best score of the season though as other teams aren't going to play him like that, I wouldn't think, and he did stop dead pretty much once they manned him up with a KPD.
Hately - Solid but nothing special.
Walker - Solid ratio given he went completely missing when the game was on the line and dropped an easy mark that could have been the game winning goal. Another big 2nd half fadeout is definitely a concern. His goals weren't of a high standard either for the most part mostly others doing the work.
Smith - Went missing in the last and wasn't really present most of the game to be honest. Tough game where there was no pressure bringing it out or down the ground so it just pinged end to end.
Sholl - Not his best game, just didn't do any of the extra things.
Butts - Not his best game but solid enough.
Rowe - Had a great 3rd quarter. Almost donuts for the other 3. Needs to do more.
