Hopefully Mansell survives. I’m still holding out some hope.

IN: Grimes, Ralphsmith
OUT: Edwards, Rioli

That’s what I’d be hoping, noticed a post today saying Rioli only returned to club today for the first time since the incident. Naish the real worry if he’s to get a full game in the seniors. Also, Ralphsmith could technically be the sub, and still be ‘debuting’.

Isn't Bolton out ? Thought I read a few posts on him 😉

Bolton out too.

Still think Mansell misses, personally.

Completely different posis.

But think Mansell will be out regardless.

Only 70k, not a great result.
This has probably been done ad nauseum in previous posts, so I apologise in advance, however a quick look at the Tigs injury list suggests best case scenario (for them) is that Cotch, Bolton, Lambert and Prestia could be back in 2 weeks? I appreciate bolton and Cotch could be a little longer than that but still....

Surely that doesn't bode well for RCD's place in the side?

Considering Warner or McCreery out for Ryan Byrnes as a second downgrade. Warner has made more profit and a high BE but a much safer option on-field. McCreery has only made $82k but unlikely to make much more unless he has a spike game and there is a real risk he has a bad one which would kill any cash gen. So is McCreery to Byrnes worth the trade?

I would say that Cotch and Prestia are the relevant ones in regards to RCD playing.

Cotch won't be back in 2 weeks, his hammies are sizzled, they won't bring him back in until he's 110%.
Prestia could sneeze and be out for 4 more weeks.

Confident he sticks around until the bye.

I think Mansell's place is dependent on how Baker goes as Lambert's replacement because he's essentially covering Baker. Didn't look good when Baker was moved back to defence in the 2nd half last week but from a structure perspective Baker has looked good playing that high half forward role.

Mature-aged 3rd tall with high disposal count for a defender in the VFL. Plenty of ball going down back for us.

Expecting him to outscore Poulter.
From preseason Sunherald articles

Tom Wilson $123,900 FWD

SC average: N/A

Wilson has hit his straps entering his third season on Collingwood’s list. The basketball convert has changed significantly since he first arrived in 2019, averaging 46 points in the VFL that year, and is right in contention to fill a spot on the wing.

SC verdict: Track his progress if he gets a call-up for the Magpies’ pre-season match.

or

Caleb Poulter $117,300 MID/FWD

SC average (SANFL U18s 2020): 130

Poulter dominated the SANFL U18s tallying 25.2 disposals, 10.6 contested possessions and a tick under a goal per game to go with 130 KFC SuperCoach points. A taller midfield option, Poulter has a raking kick and, like McInnes, would add something different to the Magpies’ midfield mix.

SC verdict: You’d pick him for the mullet alone. One who is probably more likely to break in mid-season given all the names eyeing a Round 1 berth.

Edit: I don't know how everyone else does it, but I stick all the articles into a note (mac) and then search for the name when they get selected. Works for me...

Yeah okay but SANFL U18s isn't really comparable to VFL lol.

Tom Wilson has been playing as a half back in the VFL for us recently and has averaged 20.75 possessions and 5.75 marks so far.

In a bottom 3 team that will play against 3 of the top 6 teams over the next 3 weeks, would you pick a mature age half back or a skinny outside mid?

Despite their height differential can any crows fans comment on whether Tex out might help Rowe's score this week?

My thinking is it might allow him to play further up the ground, a role he seemed to have in the SANFL last year but hasn't carried over to the AFL.

I could loophole him with McCreery if Waterman is not named (which I'm hoping happens) . The F6 in my side sucks and it will probably be another month before I can finally upgrade Rowe.
