3 quarter time for Collingwood vs Hawthorn (6 quarters in total, most senior players leave after 3 quarters), here are my notes on the fantasy relevant players:

  • Sicily - Heavily involved off half-back, shared kick-ins with others. Looked fit and healthy but the abundance of HBFs sharing the pill might lead to a 90 - 95 SC season rather than 105+
  • Ward - Was he even playing?
  • Mitchell - 0 impact, but then again, he has nothing to prove. For such a proven performer, pre-season games like this should have 0 bearing.
  • Sidebottom - Pure wing role, didn't spend any meaningful time up forward or CBAs. Him and Daicos were permanent wingmen whenever they were on the ground. The role is there, output was OK but not great. Expecting a 95 average season.
  • Crisp - Similar to how De Goey and Elliot will be a CBA/Fwd pair, Crisp and Pendlebury rotated off half-back and inside midfield. Don't think I saw him and Pendles simultaneously at any centre bounce. Was the most prolific player on the ground when played as a midfielder, and was amongst the better players when played as a half back as well. Had precise kicking down back, and became an absolute clanger machine whenever he was kicking through the midfield. Mixed information, but overall, a tick for me. Expecting a 105 - 110 average season.
  • Pendlebury - If Crisp was 65% mid / 35% HB, Pendles was the opposite. Took every kick-in when played in defence, but just couldn't go near it outside of these kick-ins. Was prolific in the midfield however. Expecting a 97 - 102 average season.
  • Lipinski - CBA pair with Elliot I believe (since De Goey was out)? Attended probably the most number of centre bounces out of everyone, which is to be expected I guess, since he's clearly absorbed De Goey's minutes too. Very unclean/ugly type of midfielder, and I feel uncomfortable about his effectiveness whenever he has any midfield time, but does all the little things and should have a fantasy friendly game
  • N Daicos - Pretty much just played in defence. Looked OK, just pick him I think.
  • Maynard - Close to 0 midfield time, skip.
  • Dean - Strong job security, looks like nothing more than a role player. Should still be ok with a 55 average, that's enough for me at $102k.
  • Grundy - Solid, pass for me.

Not as detailed as wogitalia, but my take outs so far today. Can't watch too many at once or my brain will explode.

Bris vs Adel
Neale -
Ran out the game really well, plenty time around the ball but think he was cruising. Still locked, just want 110.
J.Berry - Role looks great and he looks really fit, always been a good runner and saw that today. Will pick him for sure now.
Rayner - This pick made little sense to begin with but the articles caught my attention. Struggled to find the footy in the midfield, didnt do much up forward. Sayonara.

Rachele - Said I wouldnt pay 180k for a first year forward in a rebuilding team... welp he was Adelaide's best player by a country mile. High HF role, lots of marks and few nice goals. Welcome to F6.
Hinge - Mostly wing, nothing really stood out about his game. Is a tough lad and throws his body around, still a reasonable shot for R1. Need 1 more look.

Port vs GC - First half only - switched to watch Pies/Hawks
Butters - Locked for mine. CBA numbers low but around the ball plenty and making things happen. So damn reckless, will give away dumb frees and 50s.
Sinn - Turned it over a bit but passes the eye test, looks like he has the wing role

Rowell - Much better than last year, looks like an 85-95 guy if I had to guess. Bit more explosive but not super clean.
Davies - Really good, kicked 2 goals and good in the contest. Watch for next game.

Hawks vs Pies - First 3 quarters - Playing another 3 with 2nd team it seems.
Titch
- Just a nothing game, no influence at all. Rotated a bit more out of CBAs I think. I don't think you can take much from this type of game though.
Sicily - Looked good, few intercepts. Gave away a 50 for mouthing off, lovely bit of nostalgia. Pies kicked 3 behinds in 3 quarters, can't remember if he took a kick in. I know Bramble took some. Still not sure on this one.
Ward - Dreadful... Turned it with the few chances he got. Slightly better in Q3.
MacDonald - Solid on a wing, able to get involved a bit. Happy to throw him at M11.

Grundy - Awesome, lots of great taps and moved freely.
Crisp - The safest Hall replacement, looked really good in the midfield and as a sweeper down back.
Lipinski - Had 19 + 1 goal in 3 quarters, most touches on the ground. Super fit and role is perfect, lots of CBAs with a bit of starting at HF and pushing up. No Wing rotations I think. I like him for 100+.
N.Daicos - Not as good as the intra club, just ok. Still locked.
Nice to read Rachele played well. My daughters name is Rachael and my family name is Dunkley, 2 easy picks!

Ward news not so good.
