He's got to be in the mix for a spot. I think Stephens should be in the lead for the wing slot from Dawson. I think Heeney into Hewett's midfield role and Campbell probably slots onto a HFF as a result.

Back 6 was pretty settled over the last 6 weeks or so and Blakey, imo, will start in that secondary rebounding role alongside Cunningham, Lloyd, Rampe, McCartin, Melican and O'Riordan/Fox.

Heeney could also go wing which probably kills of Stephens but opens more midfield work for Gulden/Warner/Campbell group.

No Darcy, interested for the thoughts there?

Can't fault the side mate, rock solid all over.

What have you heard on Campbell. Is the lad in line for Dawson/Hewett Role.?

Also like the Bowey Selection, he has been in my Def line a few times Along with Coleman.
Nothing but the "eye test" on Campbell. I just think that where Sydney are he is a player that will get games and be given every opportunity to have a decent role

Hello Everyone

After more tinkering and rearrangements, I have stumbled onto a team that I am happy with.

The lack of money in the war chest is a bit of a concern, but I could find some rearranging a rookie.

If you have any comments or advice, please feel free to do so.

Regards

May have gone 1 heavy on my own team. Fire away with any feedback
Are you tipping a Roo revival Mudflap?
I'd love to see it but don't know if LDU, Simpkin and Powell will all take a big step up together. Especially with Greenwood coming in and basically demanding a spot in the midfield.

no Daicos 😭

11 premiums - 4 value so will all come down if you get 15 starting rookies that look viable (who knows at this stage who we get Round 1)

You are probably right. I am 100% on Powell. LDU and Simpkin are likely to be moved on.

First Draft.

Obviously need the rookies to fall and a lot of those are placeholders :)
Mate when i first saw this team i literally took a step back and thought, hang on how have you managed to fit in Dunks, duncan, treloar, 3 def premos, 4 uber mids and value pick neale and 2 prems in the ruck. Not to mention JHF, daicos, ward.
Well done!
I made a similar structure (not as good as yours tho) - but from trying to read as much as i can on training reports (for rookies) on bigfooty, i've got all 123k rooks on my bench with atleast 150k rooks in defence. Add all that up and thats how my Gresham, is your Treloar, and my butters is your duncan.
And i've got llyod and hall down back. Mate i'd be keeping a copy of this team, if you can squeeze in the rookies when the season starts i'd say you have an extra premium to start the season than most.

Would appreciate any feedback. Biggest dilemma atm is whether to lose a premo mid for a mid-pricer and going for an extra premo forward or safer defender (not fully sold on Sicily and Whitfield but both represent good value). Sceptical about Dunkley but still worried about excluding him.

Sicily was apparently very good in the intra club on Friday, one of the standouts. He seems to be tracking well at this stage, but you can't rely on intra club form too much.

I’ve just made some changes to my own side, which I drafted before we knew about the in-season DPP changes. I think that has a fairly significant impact on certain selections, and makes 90 type forwards a fair bit less attractive. I think I’ll only start forwards that (1) I expect to go 100 or very close to it, or (2) that are cheap enough to make good cash.

If you’re really positive on De Goey and Butters’ scoring, I think that’s okay - but my sense is that slightly more fringe or value picks are less appealing than they would normally be.

So that’s just $101,500 per blank spot which isn’t viable unfortunately.

With Coniglio up forward I do like the structure though.

I estimate you need around 260k extra which would equate to around 125k per blank space which is more viable.

One of your premium mids aside from Neale to Rowell or Ryan/Dawson to Milera/Coleman would get it done.

I don’t mind the structure of this team. The four keepers at the back with a slant on value is okay but I am not sure about having both Whitfield and Sicily. But I agree with the structure.

Mids and rucks are fine .

I am considering having a foundation fwd with Butters at F2 and then Cogs etc. It frees up cash to be used elsewhere. I am not sure De Goey is the foundation fwd. He has a high ceiling but so do a lot of the fwds on offer. He has missed 17 games out of a possible 61 in the past three seasons. IMO the only thing that can move him up is he either a) goes full time mid or b) some kind of game plan change at the Pies seems him able to exploit his skill set to a much higher level on a consistent basis. On point (a) from what I have seen so far in training reports he is not running as a full time mid in Pies training sims. Lipinski seems to be getting more mid time. De Goey is working in the fwd line with runs in the mid. Of course this can change. On point (b) I guess we need to watch the scratch matches.

Curnow can be the Daniher of this year. Especially if Voss can get the ball quicker into the fwd line. Playing the games at the end of last year I think might have helped him mentally getting over the injury as well as helping with a fitness base for this year.

Just had a Sunday morning tweak of the team. I'm not worrying too much about the what if's regarding DPP switch up in round 6 - i feel that a lot of rookies will get the dpp swing sets mostly anyway (daicos, JHF) and that will be great for everyone.
Risk profile of the team is certainly there, especially forward - since the introduction of new rules in particular trade boosters and extra trades i really am leaning towards heeney, butters whitfield now.
I think Lloyd and Hall will either maintain or increase their averages and will be #1 #2 defenders so i want to not muck around and lock them in. I'd like whitfield to be Crisp, however not complaining getting whitfield for 500k bit of a bargain/almost must have when you think about the scoring power there.
Midfield seems fairly cookie at this stage which is fine. I started macrae, steele last year and traded in touk early - loved it and long may those three continue! Neale is a must, apparently fit, surely he goes 115+ if not higher.
Gresham looks really bloody fit atm - read a presser where he has said that h's learned to become more professional with diet, recovery and doing all the extra things to really step up through his rehab over the last 2 years. Anyway expecting a solid 80+ stepping stone pick from him with the hope of more

feedback welcome
