Geelong with only 4 games at KarPark

Hopefully this is realistic (and achievable) 😀

LLOYD , WHITFIELD * , Sicily , Coleman * , Hinge , McCartin * / Kemp , Dean

MACRAE , STEELE , BRAYSHAW , NEALE , Berry , Horne-Francis , Daicos , Ward (or D Stephens) / Sinn * , Maginness * , Mead

GAWN , GRUNDY / Hayes

DUNKLEY * , HEENEY , BUTTERS , Coniglio * , Curnow , Rachele * / Durdin , De Koning *

Hopefully 13-3-6

Bit of wriggle room on the bench for $ when teams drop

$ 10,400.00 in the Bank

Thoughts welcome
I like it, I've got nothing bad to say and you can justify every selection. For me I'm really nervous about leaving Rowell out, which is funny as I was never really bullish on him through out most of the pre-season but watching him play and seeing that score from CD on the weekend has me nervous. He really does change a structure though. I think at least this way if Rowell does fire and you don't get what you want out of say a Brayshaw/Sicily/Heeney/Butters you could probably move one sideways to jump on, but I like it.

I think I'm pretty happy with this. 73k in the bank for late changes.
And perfectly timed after my last post above, this for me is the structure I was alluding to.

I'm set-up very much between this structure and yours @Herbie66

I've got a couple of different players, I'm running one extra rookie in defence and I've got Thomas at this stage added to the forwards. I'm not a fan of Curnow, too much risk and don't think he'll provide much more than some others around that price or cheaper.

Cheers appreciate the response.

Was keen on Titch @M3 but now he has become Brayshaw so possibly could be Rowell.

Still keen on trying to fit Short in somehow so still will think of starting Whitfield possibly in the mids to fit Short in.

Think Fort has ruined my hopes for Big O 😭

See what happens with the rookies in the next few days

Which players were you thinking? Ralphsmith seems an intriguing one.

There's a few like Ralphsmith and Brodie along with McCartin and Hinge which are a watch for me. Curnow has had so many knee issues and him going off last week scares me even if they say it was nothing. Curnow may be best 22 but means nothing if he misses games through injury

I actually don't mind this team! Probably the only pick I don't like is Rayner, but I'm struggling to see a different option that isn't either A) Completely changing the overall structure or B) Just trading your speculative pick for mine (eg, Coleman). Rookie balance and fund allocation looks good, and there is a good mix of premiums with good history/durability to o***et some of the slightly riskier ones (that we'll all have a couple of anyway). See how the preseason games play out but overall I think it's in as good place as it can be until rookies become clearer!
The only other one I like around the Rayner pricing is Tom Sparrow at Melbourne. But I am a Dees supporter so there's a bit of bias there. But will be interesting to see if his midfield minutes stay up this week if Viney comes back into the side.

Lets see on Rowell.

Managed minutes last week, not sure why and whether that is good or bad.

Reminder that last weekends game and 2020 both were short quarter periods, this week is standard time.

84% TOG in short period quarters could turn into 70%.. Have him in the team however minutes played rather than just PPM will be watched. Ran at 75% contested possessions last weekend, is that sustainable? Does a lack of outside game hurt him?

Who are some of you picking as the captain loop hole. Akuei at the moment for me.
If I pick one, Ned Long. Likely to get games at some stage and seems to be a decent player from what I have seen, but probably won't play in the first few rounds. Will likely have at least another dud rookie by the time he does.

It’s been a week since I looked at a team containing the highest owned players.

Once again I can only get 29 of the top 30 owned players under the salary cap. This week Crisp (ranked 25th) was the lowest ranked player I could remove to fit in Tsitsas (ranked 31st)

Therefore, from last weeks team:
In: Butters, Rowell, Tsitsas
Out: Crisp, Curnow, Clark

Has to be a R/F for mine as that spot looks dead anyway and it provides some utility to it.

Ideally I won't have one though.
I haven't completely ruled out Preuss for R3 yet, could still make some decent cash with him, but he's a big ? right now as to how often he will get picked. Not much else jumps out for R3 though, agreed, possibly Lynch for the Hawks at a similar price, but that's probably even riskier.

Also on Ned Long.
What we have of the draw so far works perfectly for him.
Only plays before Macrae once in round 7.

I'll be starting Titch also, and hopefully we get MacDonald, making it very easy to never be locked out of a potential loop, and always able to fall back on Titch C in case of disaster.

Started Rowell last year, once bitten..

Why? Seems to be a maxim of fantasy to have one.
It's a foolish pick if there is a cash cow available, imo. Who didn't have a non-playing rookie by round 3 or a suspended or short term injured premium last year or basically every season ever?

You might gain points, although on the season I lost points last year from loopholes and have in I believe it's now 4 of the last 6 seasons, I'm awful at it clearly which influences my thoughts but I'd rather the chance at an extra 150k in my side, than what often ends up being a 50/50 decision on a rookie or captain score for maybe as little as one week and likely for only two?

When picking a dead R3 spot though the loophole is just about the only thing I'm considering as you may as well maximise the value of the spot. This year it probably makes sense to look at a Comben or Hayes type who is at least a chance of playing, perhaps giving a best of both worlds of a loop the first couple of weeks when you're still learning your team and also cash and cover later on.

Needs to be picked as the #1 ruck for round one to consider for mine. Too expensive for a guy who could easily not play all season. Flynn was genuinely good last year.

How bad is Big Boy's hamstring injury ?
