D: Hewett has never really averaged 90+ consistently, so I can't see him doing that now. He could even tag a bit.
M: Very nice
R: Likewise
F: Wingard is a smoky! Why do you rate him over Duncan and Taranto, who miss fewer games?
Wingard had a solid finish to 2021 IIRC playing more midfield minutes and impacting the scoreboard. He's a smoky, pretty sure he won't be in my team round 1 but you never know.

Not sure why Hately is in my side tbh.
Place holder for now. Happy with the big names in this side. Gresham a watch for now
Seems to be a potential supercoach-winning team! My only question would be why you've left out Sicily (although I don't think he's neccessarily an absolute must-have)?

Seeing a lot of Hobbs , where does he fit ?

McGrath , Merrett , Parish , Shiel , Stringer

Caldwell + Langford

Think I may have missed one as well.

(y) Plenty of injury risk in there, I love the balls to wall approach but I'd be looking for a couple of top tier premiums just to underpin the team and have confidence that more than likely they'll be there from round 1 to 23. Oliver and Macrae are really the only two you could put your hand on your heart and say this, Ridley maybe but he's role dependent regarding scoring ability, Gawn probably another. Just a lot of risk.

Wil Day I like also but when I look at the Hawks defensive/wing line they're pretty much all capable of good SC scores - I just need to be sure the consistency will be there with any Hawks player I choose rather tha big scores being spread over multiple players week in week out.
Agree plenty of injury risk but just a starting point. I think you start with value and a few superstars. Gawn, Oliver and Macrae are the only three i will 100% start with assuming they are fit.

By the numbers, this team represents exceptional value. But obviously that doesn't always work out given the limited trades to deal with the injury risk.

So many hawks I am tempted with: Siciliy, Day, Bramble (although over 400k so a bit expensive), Reeves. Need to see how the hawks fit 3 ruckman into 2 spots ...

D: Looks pretty good to me! Day is a risk if he plays wing (they usually score worse than half-backs), but has good upside. I'd also be wary of where Milera plays, in case they chuck him forward again.
M: Don't think Fyfe is worth the risk - he just always misses a few games. There are also so many good topline mids to choose from, or even another topline defender like Lloyd.
R: Witts is an interesting pick. At 380k, I think he'll struggle to make enough money at his price. Preuss is a lot money on the bench - I think you'd be better off going a 102k ruck and then upgrading to someone like Darcy.
F: Looks good!
Thanks for the feedback.

Will roll the dice with Day. Although have to have one breakout pick. Agree on Milera but valued at 29 points under his 3 year average low risk.

Probably won't start Fyfe. But wanted to get all the value in my team first (hence v0.1). And then see where i need to sure it up.

Witts is a hard one. Nice POD. Is valued 24 points lower than his 3 year average. Problem is he probably wont average enough to be a keeper. So thats another trade needed. Also tempted by Reeves at the hawks. Could seriously breakout.

Cheers mate. Hawks have a bit of quality down back and not sure if Sam Mitchell wants him to be the interceptor/main distributor. Surely he will though.

Hawks have a bit of quality across the field actually, not just in defence. Mitchell, Worpell, McEvoy (think he could play more forward than back this year), O'Meara, Moore, Wingard, Bramble all had high scoring games last year (possibly othes I forgot), Ward, Long, MacDonald have all shown high scoring potential as juniors. I do think there will be some good scoring players from the Hawks, but it is hard to nail down which ones to select.

v0.2
B: Whitfield, Sicily, Hurley, Day, Milera, Aleer (Thompson, Dean)
M:Macrae, Oliver, Walsh, Guthrie, Neale, Constable, Horne-Francis, Daicos (Johnson, Clark, Peris)
R:Gawn, Grundy (Akuei)
F: Duncan, Treloar, Rayner, Coniglio, Phillips, Maginness (Kelly, Parker)

Risky back and forward perhaps, but they are the right areas to take a chance ...

Hello Everyone

I hope you all have a safe and wonderful festive season.

Being a Tiger-tragic I had to fit Dusty in the starting line-up and as M5, I think he will be a Christmas Bargain.

Hannebery and Gresham are due for a change of luck, I expect Hannebery to have a wonderful 2022 since it is the last year of the mega contract.

Rioli to play HBF to replace the retired Houli; I hope Sydney Stack plays forward as that is his best position as demonstrated in the last game against Hawthorn.

I think he will play down back all year. When you rebuild you start from defence that’s what the tigers did and it worked a treat for us.
