The Dogs looked great at times, but in the end Melbourne had nearly 70% more scoring shots (27:16).
The Dogs also had 26 more disposals and 20 fewer contested possessions. How many reminders do they need that opposition sides don't care how many uncontested possessions Macrae, Dunkley, Smith, Treloar and co end up with?

121 for English is underwhelming, had like 5 intercept marks in the last quarter and immediate effective kicks to follow.

Literally everything went his way this game.
Yes and no IMO, if Stef/Sweet stay out of the side, he's got such a large monopoly on ruck contests etc.

But the 8 frees were an anomaly. I'm optimistic he won't destroy my season haha

fwiw im expecting English to approach 130 after scaling. 120 is clearling underscoring him.

Just don't think English owners (myself included) should be excited yet. If Gawn had a game like this + his hitouts it would be a 200+ game.
The important part isn't the score. It's the fact that he competed well enough in the ruck and was very solid in all other aspects. Even Bevo should be satisfied with that performance.

Perhaps, and I think Bevo will stick with him in the ruck.

Let's just hope he gets a greater share of the ruck pie, since as it stands, he got maybe like 5 - 10 points / 120 from hitouts this game.
