Foreceful enough that he stayed down for a bit. I think it definitely lands in Medium. He chose to bump/brace, but didn't move, so I guess that's careless rather than intentional - similar to the Mitch Robinson one?

If he does get a week I wouldn't be surprised.
So it is being looked at?

Cheers I didn't know that about Martin but I don't think he would have played anyway, last year his hitout win % was 32% (close to last in the league), so he is unlikely to be the answer to any ruck issues at the dogs at this stage in his career. Also whilst they lost the clearances to Carlton they easily beat Melbourne, English has shown to be very good at clearances as essentially another midfielder in there. They also smashed the swans in clearances last night. When you combine this with his around the ground work, he's clearly a much better ruck option atm than Martin or Sweet (he had a better hitout win% than Martin last season and was 0.7% behind Sweet and looks improved this year) and the only reason why I can see another ruck coming in is because they need English forward due to a lack of firepower down there (which is possible). If they had a better ruck outside of English I'd see his job as under threat (as first ruck) but I don't think the other two are any good. They may still try to play Martin for a few games but I don't see it lasting.
Yeah I appreciate the logic behind what you're saying and alot of it makes sense, however I still just don't think anyone can conclusively say "English will ruck solo for the majority of year" when his tap work is currently this poor.

Yes Stefan Martin may not have a great hitout win % himself, but whose to say Bevo won't see his inclusion as an opportunity to give English relief and help make English stronger in fewer contests?

There are still just a few unknowns with English and Bevo is notorious for mixing things up. If English was as complete a ruck as Gawn or Grundy, I would agree with you - but he just isn't at their level.... yet.
