Looks like cash generation is going to be good this year. The bigger question is which premium to upgrade to? There are not to many that inspire confidence at the moment and Brodie, Daicos and JHF might end up as keepers?
I was thinking this after reading your posts. I think the answer in broad terms is “the best ones possible”. No need to compromise if the cash is flowing … just a matter of timing it right, and final teams could be very strong.

Short won't go under a 100 this season just because of the volume of kick ins. They should tweak the scoring system so free points aren't just handed out so easily.
Short often gets the ball back after the initial kick in. The 30m kick in space makes this tactic work every time. Teams just don’t defend it so Short ends up with more effective long kicks (usually to the wing)

Do VFL teams do final team sheets? Sandringham playing Box Hill at 12noon at the G. Hopefully Hayes is playing. Still a risk he gets pulled out of the game if required for a late injury but less likely to be the sub if he runs out for Sandy

This does happen a lot but he still takes the majority of kick ins. I don't mind his scoring considering he was one of my first picked defenders but the scoring based on actual impact seems lopsided in favour of unwarranted points.

I’d say he’s still effective in those kick ins. Generally always hits a target. Agree they are cheapies but it’s still an important skill and being able to get the ball more than a kick away from goal is critical

He's definitely effective but I would be worried if a player wasn't effective from having a free run of the footy.

I agree on the scoring system, I thought the point was that it's not fantasy. Kick ins are almost completely irrelevant in footy now unless a bad mistake is made. Short's scoring should drop off at times though. I'm seeing what happens to Lloyd and Ryan when the opposition kicks straight- they score 70s.

tbh I saw no difference in impact on Richmond's ball movement between Short's typical longer kick in or one-two and Rioli mostly not playing on and kicking shorter.

Sandy team sheet just updated, Byrnes and Hayes held back from VFL team, Highmore and Connolly both listed on the ground.

I smell a late change in the AFL lineup meaning both Byrnes and Hayes could end up on the AFL team sheet, unless perhaps they just want to give Hayes a week off to rest given how far he's come as an SSP addition?

Won't know for sure until possibly anything up to 5 mins out from the Saints game (if there's a potential late change in the works), so that probably kills off any manouevring around Martin in the early game for those in that position.

Edit: For those rolling the dice hoping to get Dixon's score on the field and have the C on Hayes the potential impact of Hayes playing or being the sub is:

(96 - Hayes score) + (current VC score - Hayes Steele's? / Cripp's? / Touk's? score)

Aargh.....spewing things didn't fall my way with Bowey, Lipinski and Macrae. A little less from Macrae and a little more from Bowey and Lipiski would have allowed me to bring in Doc and Macca in one fell swoop next week, short 30k now.
