I am amazed that people are considering trading out Rachele for a quick cash grab considering we know his potential…. He has strong job security and only needs a spike game to drive that cash flow… I’m keeping him for one…
I agree it is not ideal. But in the case that Martin must come in, sometimes it is a case of someone has to go out to facilitate it.

In the senario that the rookies abailable for trading are:

Hinge, McCartin, Gibcus, De Konig, JHF, Dacios, Ward, Stephens, Durdin, Hayes, Rachele

Who has to do if not Rachele?

Despite what Trade Assist says, I think the percentage play is probably MacDonald > Martin. Means I can swing Rachele into the mids and hide him on the bench.

What I do, if anything, with the second trade I am not sure. Will be holding a lot of cash, which seems like a waste. Potentially could do Berry up to Heeney or T Green, but not sure if the ship has sailed and I am missing the value now if I do that.

1649116827366.png Would appreciate feedback on this team...Made three trades
Finn Maginness to Xerri (Didn't like Finn at all, was tossing up between him and Durdin) would appreciate feedback on if i should trade durdin or finn to get him
I went hugh dixon to heeney, heeney seems like a must have and I had the cash to get him...Was weighing up going to a 5th defensive premo but ultimately decided to see which premo i should target. Also wanted to wait on skinner to make another 50k
I went Davies to mead for the cash, again, would like to change mead to dylan stephens but id need to trade durdin instead of maginness for that

Which combination is better
Doc/Hall and Jackson Mead (instead of Alex Davies)
Heeney, Maginness and Dylan Stephens (instead of Alex Davies)
Heeney, Durdin and Jackson Mead (instead of Alex Davies)

In the same boat, although I have Dixon as well. Hoping it's made a bit easier by one of them being dropped (preferably Dixon). If all are playing, I might trade Stephens.

Not fun to trade out players you know have capacity to turn around and humiliate you with a big score, but sometimes it has to be done.

On the whole I think people generally cling too possessively to their cash cows. Once they come within 50k of my expected value for them, they're in the gun for me. And if they throw in a big score after that, so be it. You can tie yourself up in knots otherwise, and stop yourself from improving your team.

3 Trades for me this round,
Rowan Marshall - English, allows me to get Preuss on field and if Preuss goes down i can field English and get Martin on field
Rachele - Martin, Don't want to trade Rachele at all, but martin is a must have
Dyl Stephens - Tom green, had 510k left after the above two trades so thought i'd go for an early upgrade, Stephens still has a lot of cash to make but the points on field from Green should be worth it. I could trade skinner to a Def but i'm not keen on any of the 510k and below guys

Am i mad for trading Dyl Stephens? do i hold 300k going into this round and stick with him?
Leaves me with 30 trades left for the season, looking like 15 keepers with 6 upgrades to go hoping Green and English can continue there form

If anyone else has any suggestions drop them below, very keen to hear peoples thoughts!

Bit hard to parse this (would be easier with image of original team instead of one with trades already done) but I would say definitely don't trade out Durdin or Skinner. Stephens is a possible trade out in a world where you're missing a must-have (i.e., N Martin), or maybe if he's dropped, but not otherwise. Dixon in similar boat - possible trade out if you're missing a must-have or if dropped, but not otherwise.

Alex Davies makes sense as a trade out, as does Maginness. But only if there are targets available that you want and can afford.

I wouldn't trade in Xerri or Jackson Mead. Heeney is a decent trade-in. You said you had cash spare - can you just do Davies>Heeney?

Aggressive (very aggressive) but not irrational trades IMO. Team looks great.

I don't have stephens or xerri so wondering if both are must haves...The only reason i pondered trading for mead is for cash

RANT:
Marshall, Marshall, Marshall.

1/. Hold: Agh.
2/. Trade: English. I believe English is a Flat Track Bully. Has Nank, Goldy/X, ROB, Draper.. coming up so I would have missed his best scores.
3/. Trade: Preuss. But only have the funds left over to go Berry to T Green. Not a real premium like Trac, Oliver, etc.
4/. Trade: Witts and hope he can at least be consistent 90-100 scorer.

Can't afford Gawn, ROB, etc.

I hate all of these options.

Honestly I'd trade preuss to martin via english...Hayes will be a lost cause after a couple rounds so you can get another look at preuss. Tom Green is a bold bold move and is a good short term investment...Honestly I'd have traded Marshall to Witts for the cash then gone from Green to an uber premo if that makes sense. But this is only my 3rd or 4th year playing this game so feel free to prioritise others' comments before mine

I'd trade Gibcus before Rachele honestly. I have less faith in Gibcus spiking a big score and no-one would've started a 170K KPD if there weren't better rookie options anyway.

Oh sorry, I misunderstood. No, Stephens is definitely not a must-have.

I think Davies to Heeney or English makes sense for you (I prefer English).

I'd probably hold after that. Maybe look to do Maginness to Preuss next week if he is still going well.
