Makes perfect sense from a structural point of view.

Cameron replaces Grundy in the ruck , but who replaces Cameron as the forward option ?

It's not about the name of the player but the role they bring.

Teams worked out Grundy's ruck work 12-24 months ago , our mids certainly weren't getting much of a advantage from his HO's.

Certainly wasn't linking up as the "extra" mid in general play like he was a few years ago as well.

"It's not about the name of the player but the role they bring." With the new coach and the newly implemented on field structure and ball movement is Brodie Grundy role still worth a million per year. ??

Wouldn't pay him or anyone else in the comp a million per year especially on such a long term deal.

Unfortunately that is how the market operates these days , only need to look at key forwards getting paid bucket loads when they are only averaging 2 goals a game (I guess that's the modern game) , imagine what guys like Ablett , Carey , Dunstall , Lockett could have earnt.

Agree, very few players would be worth $1m.

re role, is he important, no he is not - on a rainy day!

Of course on a dry day with Grundy in ruck and DC forward it can make a bigger difference.

Also, Darcy attend a lot of ruck contests vs a normal game, had a shocking win rate of 35%, although HTA was good at 45%. Darcy better HOW, less HTA, probably the same in absolute HTA (circa 10). Darcy attended more RC so solid from DC. 83 vs 62 RCs.

Hard to get a read on the rucks. Not sure English, Witts and Gawn keep going on their merry way.
With Bazlenka and Bont joining the forwards I'm wondering if I should keep English in the rucks?

Who would be your f6 and preferred r2 after English? If it were my team it would mean I was backing Butters v Darcy. No thanks.

Have Darcy and English.
So Witts or Gawn vs Bont or Bazlenka or Dunkley or Parker or Heeney or DCameron or Brodie.
It also means turfing 1 forward or 2 because Bont and Bazlenka will have to come in.

Comparative Pricing Tables - Rucks

Out of interest, I have run off two tables comparing the 20 highest priced rucks at the start of the season against the current top 20 on price.
I hope most of it is self-explanatory but these notes should help.
Notes 1 column
An XX indicates that the player is no longer in the top 20 (not in the 2nd table)
An A indicates that the player was added as a ruck as a mid-season DPP
Blank or just A indicates the player is somewhere in the 2nd table
Notes 2 column
Blank indicates the player was not in the original top 20 list
Otherwise for players in both lists there will be a notation xx -> yy showing the from & to rankings
Screenshot 11.JPG
A lot less scope for variation in this position, sees most of the same players featuring in both tables.
Three really large price gains including Witts who has vaulted all the way to the top of the price table.

Last week you did well if you managed to score a total of 160 from your Ruck line.

Round 15 Ruck scores

Jackson 112 v McInerney 98
Sweet 74 v Reeves 76
Williams 58 v Wright 105
De Konig 86 v Darcy 117
Blicavs 87 v Nankervis 141
Hickey 133 v Marshall 156
Goldstein 120 v O'Brien 127
Cameron 117 v DNP
DNP v Witts 148

So it was possible to score 304 this Round, and you probably needed to score at least 250 to competitive.

This year more than any other in recent time, getting your Ruck combo right will have a big bearing on your success.
In previous seasons there were only 2 or 3 viable combo's. This year, we are still trying to work out, who is viable, and who isn't!

Kept both English and Preuss so had a ruck donut and 122 from Jackson.

Had the donut despite using a boost!

Although did have Blicavs as D4 but stranded there.

Bingo!
(Marshall and Witts)

I have zero confidence in Marshall and was planning on trading him to English early in the week.
I briefly looked at other alternatives:
- Jackson: Possible spike but unsure on how long Gawn out for
- Goldy: Old and Xerri risk
- O'Brien: Deviation too high
- Darcy: Duribility
- Nank: Was seroiusly considering
- Hickey: Comming back from inj.

I ended up just leaving Marshall in and fixing other problems as at least he was playing.

Lucked out there mate with Ryder being out, Marshall is an absolute jet when he rucks solo, seems to go to another level.
