I use that logic for my NFL fantasy.

AFL, there's so many trades in and out that if I have player X for a few weeks I can live with that. But I'm never going to accept Jake Stringer as a premium candidate.

Am I reading the Adelaide part correctly and they are saying that Thilthorpe will be their number 1 ruck this season?

Or should it read that he will be the supporting ruck for O'Brien or Strachan?

Very interested at 318k if it is the former.

Yep, poorly worded. I tend to agree, I think the intention is to say that Thilthorpe would be favoured as the second ruck to Strachan, which in reality is no real difference to how they've gone about things the last couple of years.

Thilthorpe has been in the A team with ROB/Strachan in the B team in a lot of their match sims.

Don't think any mistakes in the writing, but also not sure that's the way they would go in Round 1.

Can't really pick either (Thilthorpe or ROB) knowing they could drop them for the other at any point.

What's it based on though? I could write on here that Tom Green was drafted as an inside midfielder with pick No. 10 in the 2019 NAB AFL Draft, but he looks like making his biggest impact as a lockdown medium defender with the Giants this season. Coach Adam Kingsley has two strong defensive options in Isaac Cumming and Nick Haynes, but he appears more likely to go for the defensively-minded Green early in the season.

Without some empirical evidence to hang my speculation on, it ain't worth much.

ROB is in the leadership group so not sure if he gets dropped too often. The issue is that he is good in pure ruck contests but hopeless around the ground for marks, kicks etc. That is why one line of thought was Thilthorpe/Himmelberg. Just get a draw in the ruck and make up for it around the ground.

I think its more just letting Thilthorpe's ruck craft develop alongside his starting midfielders and against quality opposition in ROB, no point him rucking to a bunch of SANFL guys if he wants to develop in match sims, will be ROB 1st Ruck and Thilthorpe the forward/ruck ultimately.

The idea is to get the most points though. Cameron is handy as a DPP as well.

One thing I would be be pretty sure on, and that's that Coaches are more interested in wins, than protecting the team spot of Leadership Group players. It might buy them a pass for a game, maybe two at most, but if they need to be dropped, you can bet they will be!!!

I was baffled by the continued selection of Jake Aarts or Jason Castagna last season despite poor form

I've got him as my bench ruck, having seen the benefits in recent years of a pinch hitter to avoid donuts.

That may change if I want to unlock the cash to use somewhere else, but I definitely don't want him as an F8 with a donut at R3 when they both could end up as donuts very easily.
