Wow! It's like watching teenage girls with FOMO about not having a white fox hoodie.

Look the guys not going to flop, and a jump to an 90-95 avg is very conceivable, but that's not good enough, even as F6. Then your stuck with a guy leaking points and not making any decent cash.
Question is, does Horse even give him enough mid time to get him to that level? Nothing from last year screams that.
I'm sure a few were tracking him before last week, but wow.

What are peoples thoughts on the best forward rookies for not just job security but also scoring potential? It's no good having a rookie play every week but not score enough to go up in value. One that I think seems to have good job security and could push 65-70 is Luke Pedlar, Others that could have a a game that could help their price to go up are players like O Allen, B King and Shexxel? Thoughts on best rookies that can score well enough for cash generation as well as job security?

I think you've mentioned the top ones for moderate cash gen & job security. Phillipou you could argue the Saints will get games into looking at the injuries they're currently dealing with. Phillipou has big spike game potential IMO.

Greene should be a lock for F7.

He doesn't need to be a permanent mid. Just an increase in mid rotations and he was only behind Parker in the praccy. Nothing is guaranteed in supercoach. All we can do is look at the patterns and take some educated risks. No risk no reward.

I reckon Wilkie does a number on Fyfe in round 1. Great match up for him and he’s brilliant 1 on 1. Was going to say criminally underrated but he did make the AA squad last year.

You’ve got guys like AbsMagic (finished 4th last year) who encourages trading after round 1 to his followers. Reckon his ownership could fall after round 1 with people seeing it as a bad selection and jumping off to another high scoring mid pricer or a Sheezel/McLean type who scores well.

Not saying Fyfe’s a good or bad pick, but I expect his round 1 score might not be a true reflection of his games thereafter.

Very good call on the Wilkie/ Fyfe matchup - he is an excellent defender, very rarely beaten so I can certainly see Ross going with him.

Are people still keen on Ziebell? Was a lot of talk about him when we saw he was playing defence again, but he seems to no longer be getting mentioned? Only in 3.9% as well
Ziebell still good option especially if he can go back in SC to fit those dpp forwards in. Can’t see him being a keeper but should make the same cash as a rookie with better scoring.

After working on his fitness, Horne-Francis says he’s looking forward to playing in a split role between midfield and forward.

“Last year it was my first year coming in and I probably wasn’t the fittest,” Horne-Francis said.

“I was probably covering 11-12km around the ground, I know as an inside midfielder I need to do a little bit more and get my metres per minute up which is something I’ve been working on.

“I’m feeling pretty fit … it’s up to Ken (Hinkley) what he wants to do with me.

“He’s given me a little bit and it’ll probably be a 60-40 split (midfield-forward).

“I’m happy with it, to be honest, I’d love to be inside – that’s where I think I do my best work – but wherever I can help the team, I’m happy to play there.”

I don't like the whole JHF ongoing saga and it's turned me off selecting him as he's just one of those players now, but his SC score from the last practice game could've been very different if it wasn't for 9 clangers and a DE of around 60%. His number and CBA attendances looked pretty good for that midprice range.

6FA too, not sure how many 50's against but he have scored close to 100 without the FA.

The concern is that you could say the exact same thing about his season last year, until he proves otherwise I think clangers are probably to be expected in significant quantities. Happens very commonly with the type of player he is while they still think they're playing against boys but aren't actually bigger and stronger than the other guys anymore.

Last year had 8 games with 5 or more clangers.

He's a brilliant talent but he's got a couple of years in a gym and on the track for mine, definitely not a terrible choice though, can easily see a low 90s range for him.

Only concern I got with JHF is taking midfield time of Rozee, yes Boak said to be out but wasn’t he out last year anyway.

I just looked at my team thinking "it's all set to go" after dealing with Yeo. My eyes wandered to the forward line. Fyfe, Phillipou and Menzies. All of a sudden I feel queasy, and feel like I need to replan my entire team. Which guarantees forward rookie have I missed? (Have Sheezel and Davey)

I've got McLean and Greene to add to Sheezel and Davey.

Greene is locked to the bench but I'm still throwing around ideas with the others. Do I push McLean to the bench? Do I swap someone for a defender?

It wouldn't be the first day of Supercoach if you didn't feel like that mate!...that's most of em, there's also Caminiti but I feel his js is very limited.
I'm passing on Allen, Sheezel and Menzie, could be a mistake but can't have em all.
