Some more interesting stats:
Among regular bowlers (I'm considering this as >3 overs per match, since that's the point at which the ER bonus kicks in) only two bowlers - Sunil Narine and Mohsin Khan - averaged under 6 RPO in the last IPL. Only a further two - Rashid Khan and Mitchell Santner - were under 7, although there are a few others who are a bit better than part time in Willey, Moeen, Maxwell and Krunal.
Between that and the lack of points for dot balls, I'm inclined to give economy less consideration than I would in the BBL.

Thank you - I was considering carrying him for a round. Maybe a bit of a waste though?
I actually found it quite hard to put together a team under budget. I couldn’t find a lot of “mid priced” value, nor did I spot a lot of real cheapies that I anticipate will play.
I did try not to go too hard on internationals, which is a mistake I’ve made in the past. Probably need all my bench except WK2 playing if I want to maximize the R3 double.

OS makeup is a bit tricky with the delayed start for the Bangladesh , SA & SL players + a few injured that haven't been replaced or out to start with.
Trying to get updated predicted starting XI's is tricky (actually frustrating because every DC side still shows Pant & MI side shows Bumrah)
Think I have 7 OS players currently sitting in my pencilled in team , might lose Moeen though , think CSK have more home games later in the season , plus gives me some dollars to play with.
Might be overpaying for Curran.
Still haven't decided on my WK 1 yet , old MS has been hitting them out of the park , looks like they had more at Chepauk for a practice game than what the BBL gets.
Might try and start 2 SRH on the bench , then bring in another couple for Round 3 (don't mind Abishek , Agarwal , Bhuvi & Sundar)

I’ve been filthy in the past when an international I think is a lock gets dropped. I think I just need to acknowledge that even though they maybe superior players, at times they have lower JS because of limited spots and high quality competition for those spots.
The local cheapies are gold if you can find them.

The biggest thing to remember is don't compare BBL & IPL , just because they perform out here is no guarantee that they even play IPL (obviously their are exceptions).
The amount of OS players that play zero games each season , I still find astounding.
My first season playing I used to pick OS players on reputation alone , pretty sure I captained Gayle once on a DGR and he didn't even play 😱.
A few other donuts later and I soon learnt the importance of looking at announced teams.
This IPL will be different again as teams are back home , so they might make few changes to their XI depending whether they are home or away.
I think we underestimate some of these Indian internationals and ones just outside the National Squads , just how good they actually are especially in Indian conditions.
CSK certainly will have a different look for home games.

Playing round with a structure like this with $300K itb.
I have Brook, Agarwal, Green and Malik missing in round 2, so thinking is that the cash held will help cover those guys if the cheapies I select don't get up for round 2 (the 3 cheapies on the BAT/BWL bench are currently placeholders). Hopefully can nail with those that play 2 games and end up being good cheapies. Prefer not to use all 3 trades on correcting the bench as I'm sure some field corrections will need to be done.
If I can get through 2 then I feel good about 3, with 3 Sunrisers already in place.
