I've ended up at a point where I kind of comfortable with the this team, except for Bowes - if there was a decent swap for Bowes+Macrae to faux premium+premium I'd probably take it.

Just generally curious about anyone else's opinion on it.
I think with the lack of quality rookies, we're all going to have to start a few mid pricers that would normally never make our team.
I like the general structure as the best rookies are down back.
I don't see Fyfe going at more than about 75-80 when the real stuff starts.
I dont like Cowan too much, I'm not trusting any of the blues rookies for now in terns of JS.
Esav, not even sure he'll be there round 1, but at least he's an easy fix.
I feel like Sheezel wil be the least value of the expensive rookies.

Solid team. Lots of money on the pine - could you do Sheezal and/or Philippou down to cheaper named rookies to permit Bowes and Macrae trades? Maybe try to get up to Oliver.
What’s your thinking on Cunnington over JZ?

I think it's super safe. Can't really question any of the players you have, very low risk individually but I wonder if it's high risk collectively. I just wonder if taking so many of the Yeo, Bowes, Hopper, Cunners, Fyfe and McLean's and if it could hurt if you end up with multiple form/injury/JS issues all at once from couple of these guys.

He was my last rookie selected. I definitely have no concerns about moving him to any better rookie option come Rd 2 if he does end a low scoring small forward. I'm hoping on upside and that he'll play around the ball, especially after his display down back, because of the limit of NM's talent pool.

I don't mind that idea, will have a play. Most likely would be Sheezal and Macrae down, Bowes up to Stewart because I couldn't see any midpricers in defense that remotely appeal and I think I'm stretching the depth of rookie defenders already.

What’s your thinking on Cunnington over JZ?
JZ could end up anywhere, which makes him very hard to project to me - even potentially dropped. Cunnington should have a spot in the middle locked down and I'm pretty confident in him averaging > 100 given his three years pre-cancer of 102, 102, 108, and as a forward which is a no brainer keeper to me, especially at $400k-ish.

I think it's super safe.
My speciality. ;)

I agree - it's a definite concern. My main problem is that I'm struggling to find guys, even at higher price points, that I like more than those guys. I feel like there's a lot more questions over role/JS/scoring/injuries for the true premiums this year than most, which is why I've ended up with way more midpricers than I'd normally touch with a ten foot pole.

I wish Setterfield was a forward and Whitfield a defender.

Does three matches in 2020 inclusive of a career high 185 equate to a year of averaging 100?

I’d probably look at Bowes down to Jones, and Cunnington up to Rozee/Gulden.

Macrae + Bowes + Sheezel + ~$75k ==> Gulden + Stewart + Madden

I think it would just shift my gamble from Bowes to Gulden! :D

I probably wouldn't class that as a GnR side. Guns need to be outright guns in their positions. Dunkley, Laird, Neale, Oliver, Miller etc. They're guys barring injury that are walk up top 6-8 on their line.
How about this one though ?

STEWART , DOCHERTY , DAWSON , Cole , Ginbey * , McKenna / Constable * , Wilmot

LAIRD , OLIVER , BONT , CRIPPS , Ashcroft , Mackenzie , Phillipou * , Phillips / Baker , Chesser * , Davey *

DARCY , MARSHALL / Madden *

DUNKLEY * , ROZEE * , TARANTO * , Allen , McLean * , King / Ratugolea * , Greene

Bank : $ 44,300.00

12 premiums

No Fyfe , Hopper , Yeo , Ziebell + the other dozen or more midpricers mentioned

Is 10 rookie priced players onfield too many to start ?

M6-8 might be shaky , F4-6 possibly as well.

Probably need 15-18 "perfect" downgrades.

Do we get that many "second wave" bench rookies making enough dollars ?

Hopefully done tinkering for now.

Plenty of guys that Chesser or potentially even Phillipou could become at selection, but I think I'm happy with my field now. Cunnington is the big deviation but I see him as a safer pair of hands than the breakout options - have probably also got enough flex to move him up if necessary.

Getting close to settled.

Still unsure about F6, Flanders is a lot to stump up in a slot which I've traditionally backed a rookie in previous starting teams. Just weighing up the likelihood of one of McLean/Sheezel scoring well enough to hold down the fort, the sub threat for McLean worries me and expect Sheezel scoring to be quite volatile like Rachel last year.

Flanders Ridley Oliver vs McLean Doc Neale my main conundrum.

Flanders scored 58,35,62,24,65,43,38,72 last year with a lowest TOG from those scores off 66% playing the same half fwd role he played in the praccy game. I was keen on him until i noticed that!

After five iterations (and counting), I'm happy with this field.

- Decided to flip Dawson for Docherty
- I'm confident in a Draper breakout this season, so I flipped English and added Marshall
- That allowed me to throw Himmelberg in the back line for the boost
- J. Cameron out, Oliver in for a boost in the midfield
- Yeo out back cause the man's gonna work a lot this season lol

Thoughts? Reckon I'm overextending on the rookie picks? supercoach-lineup.PNG
