Strategy 2023: Round 17 Trades

Thinking Dunkley to mid bench,

Mitchell & Wardlaw to Rozee and Mullin.

Not much room to move on that leaves 3k in the bank.

Might change Mullin to Dewar for the DPP

Oliver gotta go for me, would love Trac but it means I'm left with one of Maric as my cover for Dunks for as long as he's out.

1. Oliver > Trac with above meh cover
2. Oliver > Macrae to open up DPP cover for most of my forwards meaning MJ covers. Already have all of the top fwds so Macrae is next best mid/fwd available

Any ideas what I do with this lot now guys? I know Fyfe is going, of course but I've got SC brainfog at the moment... Part of the plan is to have Have 1 or 2 of Sheezel/Mitchell to be able to swing D and F with Dewar. Sheezel could also potentially go, however I think it was mainly his DE, last week that accounted for his low score... Any suggestions get reps all round! 6 trades left and 78k ITB.

Seriously considering trading Dunkley to Libba. Will go down to 2 trades if I do it.

With rough calculations if he misses 1 week, 40 point gain; 2 weeks, 95 point gain; 3 weeks, 135 point gain; 4 weeks, 175 point gain. If I get another injury then these point gains will increase as would be using Himmelberg over Johnson as cover.

Have a gut feel he misses 3+, all the reports I’ve seen are very negative. If he only misses 1 week it’s probably a waste of a trade. Anything more it’s probably a win.

Libba probably outscores or scores similar to Dunkley when he comes back too, unlikely to go 120+ coming off a calf.

Also get an extra $59k bringing my bank to $89k which could be useful in the future.

I would lose my DPP slot in the midfield. No way to tell how bad that will be until the season is over.

Would much rather have a crack and potentially blowout to 1000th but have a chance of top 100 than settling for 400th.

Could trade out Johnson and Fyfe go a Liberatore/ Cerra/ Serong type…

this moves either Sheezel/ SMitchell forward to cover Dunkley this week.

Sheldrick with dpp should be enough to cover both mid and forwards on the run home…

Fyfe 1 trade to T Thomas? Covers Dunkley this week then some fiddling around next week for a final upgrade perhaps via a Mitchell/Johnson trade swinging dpps around.

Thanks @Maccas marvels & @frosty1 for providing really good feedback and avenues I probably wouldn't have thought about - though I was looking at a Libba type to finish mids... Now to make a decision.

(Gee, thinking Serong (vs Libba & Cerra) is very good value that may allow another upgrade... Not sure I can entertain Thomas et al. .... )

Dunkley looms as the most crucial decision remaining this season. We've seen with Oliver that these things can blow out with a 'no risk' approach which Fagan has already hinted at.

We know he's out this week and we know that he isn't a lock for next week as well.

But he's also the highest averaging player in SC over the last 5 weeks, even with being subbed at 3 qtr time last week. He's also owned by close to 100% of any team considered relevant at this point of the year heading into this week.

Given his scoring power, there's basically no one that can compete with him if he returns in a week. So you're gambling that this is 2+ weeks or you have no cover. Sheldrick didn't score enough this week who is probably the most used cover for him. Others may be stretched with the likes of Ziebell omitted.

I'm currently leaning trade, there are already 12,000 others who have apparently already made the move. A lot probably can't make the move due to a lack of trades.

There's 8 matches remaining, Dunkley misses at least one of them. The question comes down to how many of the last 7 matches do you think he plays?

Yes Serong excellent value that saves $60k on Cerra/ Libba type which can be extremely useful with our last trades….
imagine Serong scores within 10-15 points per week for those 2 which equates to 120 missed points at worst….the cash in hand probably benefits more…

I would trade Ziebell knowing his cash loss will hurt potential upgrades…
last thing you want is a potential keeper now being sub risk….

Doc is good pickup….allows you to reassess with Oliver decision next week…
Can you still do the Oliver to Libba trade or will that be impacted for cash by upgrading Ziebell?
If so can potentially pickup Serong for $560k instead if you don’t have him…

Ziebell curveball. Planned on holding him for a few weeks until finals start then grabbing Sicily.
Now I'll likely need to go Oliver + Ziebell for Parish + Houston.

Had planned on just getting Neale in this week, but now cash is going to limit me. Parish vs. Serong, but like Parish as a bit of a different option.

Essendon have north and WCE in the run home. Could be some big scores.
