Strategy 2023: Round 9 Trades

Are people convinced with Atkins JS? Looking to use my last boost to get him in. Looks to be reasonably safe to have on field as well, assuming he holds his spot

So many options this week. Team below. 2 boosts left. After any and all thoughts

Option 1 - McKenna/Hollands to Atkins/Gulden 57k in the bank
Option 2 - Ashcroft/Callaghan/Hollands to Parish/Gulden/Drury 3k in the bank
Option 3 - McKenna/Ashcroft/Roberts to Atkins/Dawson/Drury 22k in the bank
Option 4 - Hollands/Ashcroft to Atkins/Ryan 26k in the bank

This is as far as I have explored so far. Leaning towards option 2 even though I would like to keep Ashcroft and Callaghan another week or two. Hard to argue with bringing in two keepers though. Option 3 my next favourite as I finally get Dawson in.

I'm never a fan of brining in a rookie after one week, so I'd lean towards Option 1. But if you feel comfrtable with Drury, I think Option 3 is a good option to bring in the super premium.

This is def in my thoughts, and yep sorry @Deeman1 I meant Drury.

I think Mckenna to Atkins and Ridley to Dawson if you want him is better than going early on Drury FWIW.

In all sorts of trouble with Ridley aren't I? Hard to see me finishing the team if I was to splash on a Dawson, but at the same time fading him for the season feels awful... Cowan > Sturt (swinging Mitchell back) would get me there.

Assuming you go with Ridley+McKenna to Atkins+Dawson and swing Day back you’re 5 upgrades left…All mid Premiums. On the plus side your 5 on field players to upgraded are really solid selections. Bont and Oliver are the only dead set must haves. So I think you pick up some value selections in Brayshaw, Steele, Parish, Cripps, Macrae? et al and finish it, it will take some cycling through of rookies like say Cowan > Drury, and then harvesting Drury R15 to get there. If it was like last year when all the mid premiums were expensive AF I think you would be in trouble, but not this year.

Without Anderson and Atkins, I'm able to grab 2 from Steele/Brayshaw/Mills, but think I like the GC bye too much. will look to grab one of those 3 next week for Wilmont, along with maybe Chandler to Drury. Would love any feedback

Trades look good. Not so much about your trades but I have a similar ruck line up and am leaving a trade handy in the event one of Darcy or Marshall misses (or both…….yikes)

Seems I'm playing a fairly straight bat this week, jumping on Brayshaw and Weddle

Out: JVR, Ashcroft, McVee
In: Weddle, Brayshaw, Petracca

Double downgrade next week (fingers crossed) to grab Drury and Berry to save/generate some cash for the looming byes.

Quite possibly. Remains to be seen if Scrimshaw goes out (seems to be the first one sent forward at the moment) or even Mitchell.

I think you go JVR. Seemingly struggling to put back to back high scores together and has gone through an easier patch, has a little bit more to go on easy games if straight back into the side.

Appreciate you dont want donuts, deal with that around byes and rookies available at that time. Prefer to get higher quality premiums.

No one else you can upgrade from thats not a premium that has maxed out.

I’m 7k short of boosting into Oliver, so I’m wait until next week or the week after. It’s a long season. Like most my firehose of cash to splash on my team is a trickle, so double down it is….provided weddle named. I did Roberts last week and JVR this week. They both need cutting now so you’ve got fresh cash in the byes.

I think I'd trust him over Weddle for JS, but looking like average scoring ability.

What's everyone else's thoughts.

Looking at Brayshaw’s numbers. He has never had a good SC/DT ratio but never a bad one. His DT numbers about the same as the last two years but his SC is way down. DT 109, SC 98.

Anybody seen why this has happened, less contested ball, kicking efficiency or CD just realising most his disposals have little impact?

You would think his JS would be okay, they need to get some games into the youth. But not sure his scoring improves much, some players just can’t find the ball. Maybe a role change, WCE people will know more
