It will change a lot of people's minds. He'll end up being a POD to start. I would imagine with his bye that he will be one of the first brought in when upgrade season kicks in.
Yeah I'm gonna wait and see how he goes, hopefully he doesn't twang it again

100% agree - I think it makes him really difficult to have the confidence in selecting from the start. That being said, we know he is one of those few players that seems to be an absolute professional in everything he does. He probably makes us all kick ourselves for not selecting him. And I hope he does as I love watching him play.
But we've all been burnt before selecting someone with an interrupted pre-season hoping it's not a sign of things to come. Just too much risk for me at this stage.

The app runs a lot better through any kind of streaming device I’ve found. Tv app seems to get a bit jerky after about 30 mins. I use a fire stick and a 3rd party app through Kodi. Doesn’t have all the features but runs way smoother.
Just buy a Google TV Chromecast, think it was 70 bucks and I've never had a problem ever watching anything.

Yes, KAYO is owned by FOXTEL.

Unfortunately, having (largely) a monopoly they don't seem too fussed with the poor performance of the app.
This is what I don’t get anymore?
Do they really still have a monopoly?
I mean every channel has their own streaming services, optus are streaming the soccer.
Why can’t ABC, SBS, 7, 9 or 10 buy the sole rights and stream it themselves on their own service?
I don't have Kayo or Foxtel as I won’t support Rupert financially. it really just takes someone else to step up to the plate and take over.
is it, that they, still have the biggest pot of gold for the AFL?

I suspect so, I don't like supporting him either but I do enjoy watching Footy, Cricket, Golf, MMA, Boxing, WSL Surfing and the occasional E-Sports tournament, oh and Motor sports sometimes.

Yeh don't think you can take him with soft tissue injury
Yeah I had a look at his history and in 2019 he missed 3 games mid season, came back with a 32 and then missed another game the next and then had the bye. But that score may have more to do with him still in his tagger years? Other than that in the last 3 years has only missed 1 game and scored 133 the week after.
He is 26 today and tomorrow he turns 27 😂 still in his prime.
For me its a case, if someone else jumps out of their skin I’ll take them otherwise I might hold as a starting pod.

Do they really still have a monopoly? Largely, as they are prepared to spend the dollars to acquire the rights for sports, and make their service a one stop shop.

Why can’t ABC, SBS, 7, 9 or 10 buy the sole rights and stream it themselves on their own service? For 7, 9 and 10 it becomes a ROI scenario. Clearly, they perceive sole rights as a poor ROI. ABC and SBS are given a set budget, therefore they would have to forego other programming to enable the spend.

is it, that they, still have the biggest pot of gold for the AFL? The pot of gold is the primary factor. Promotion of the game through extra programming is the cream on top.

They are all sports? MMA, sounds like the initials after a doctors name😂
I use to watch basketball when I was younger, enjoyed the game, talking the NBL here, North Melb Giants, Melb Tigers etc. It was on C7 after World of Sport I think?
Always woke up and watched the basketball on a Sunday before I faced the world 😎 haha
Now I wouldn’t know where to see it except if the Aussies are playing in The olympics.
I think sporting codes have gone down the wrong path for financial viability by putting their product behind a paywall.
but that also could be because I’m a tight**** and don't see the value in spending $$$ to further the likes of Rupert!

Thanks mate, more rhetorical questions. I know ABC & SBS can not afford to bid for the TV rights but didn’t wish to show any bias by not including them. 😎
But your point on the ROI is of course the valid problem. But isn’t it the answer also? I mean by creating a monopoly like Fox have, as you say, created the product that can create wealth for 7, 9 or 10 if they want to jump in?
I don’t see why they cant just do what Fox do but hopefully better? Or is that pie in the sky stuff!

Doctor Pain MMA, good nickname for a fighter haha, I though NBL was still free to air on sbs or Ten? I used to waste money on the full foxtel 4k package but now I'm fine just with Kayo, couldn't live without my sport, it keeps me sane :)

Touk not playing any praccy games does change anyones minds about taking him?
Takes him out of contention. You don't mess with soft tissue issues in preseason at that price point (or any really).

Unfortunately, having (largely) a monopoly they don't seem too fussed with the poor performance of the app. I haven't heard much about their TV and Movie app (BINGE) having issues, so they can do it if they wanted to.
To be fair, live streaming requires significantly more bandwidth and internet consistency as nothing can be cached or pre-loaded like a TV show or movie can be. Australian internet is woeful which starts everything on the backfoot anyway.

That said, would highly recommend getting a NVidia Shield or Fire or Chromestick or Apple TV if indoctrinated in that ecosystem and using the app on those instead, the native processing power on TVs can definitely cause issues that those things will get around. I've got Shield and would highly recommend, albeit more pricy than the other Android options.

I bought a fire stick of an irishman at work for $270 and it gets every channel, every main event, every tv series + movies any sporting event you can think off. Best buy ever.

Haha that sounds like a highly modded one, that you paid convenience for as they should cost about $50! Assume it's got Kodi on it.
