I can only think a couple of things:
a) What is actually wrong with Luka, it's got to be bad to essentially salary dump him.
b) I assume that Luka demanded LA and no one else because otherwise why are you only talking to one of the teams with the least assets, that's in your conference.
None of this makes sense. Only way that this doesn't go all time bad trades is if Luka's conditioning really is that bad that he just never gets on the court again. Kind of like how the Penny Hardaway trade was really hard to swallow getting so little from the Suns but actually ended up not hurting as much because his body was cooked.
How they're not getting swaps and more picks is crazy talk.
I say this is as one of the biggest AD fans around, I think he's one of the very best players but it still makes no sense.
Edit: Should add that leading with the conditioning and durability stuff after you traded for Anthony freaking Davis is an all time baffling "marketing campaign". Like you found the one guy who might be worse in those areas and, it would appear, targeted him and paid multiples on the dollar for him.
It's funny because most of the Davis trades that had been rumoured were essentially him being salary dumped which is what makes this even crazier.
Freaking Lakers and their ability to do this stuff. This is Shaq going to LA because Orlando's owner, one of the 5 richest in the league at the time, didn't want to pay him a few million more out of principle level how the hell does that happen.

It's wild to me to see so many people using "injury prone" for Luka. Not singling you out here, but a general observation on the internet lately because before this season he'd been pretty consistent with games played each season. As for his conditioning not being adequate which is another knock on him, it didn't stop him dominating every other year where his conditioning wasn't great. Single highhandedly dragged the Mavs to the finals last season. In the same period that Luka has been in the NBA, AD had missed a lot more games up until this year.
I agree though, both Luka and LeBron are ball dominant players with little defense between them, I can't see that combo working out well. If I were LeBron I'd be trying to orchestrate my own trade out of LA to a better fit and crack at one more title.

I mean when your best effort is 10 missed games and you're already ineligible for awards a month before the all star break it's a pretty apt descriptor. Not arguing he's not dominated despite it but would love to see him take conditioning seriously as he could be anything if he did, one of those perfect examples of being great despite it, not dissimilar to Shaq back in the day, you can't argue he was great only that his own dedication to that side of the game definitely reduced how great he ended up. I also did say that Davis is worse, Davis doesn't cop as much flak for his horrendous conditioning because he's lucky that he still looks in shape when he's not as opposed to Luka who tends to look more like the dad of 4 showing up for golf on the weekend as opposed to athletic. He's still amazing.
The LeBron/Doncic sounds awful on paper but will be interesting to see, both are fantastic players, what could be interesting is if they play off each other in PnR situations, not sure if LeBron would be willing to do it consistently but could definitely be terrifying pairing for that in crunch time scenarios.
