Took a day off after what was a horrible round 1. Can't believe I captained Harrison. Scored 201 which leaves me ranked 9172. The good side is that it was round 1, early season and there were no doubles, so points can still be clawed back with a good couple of rounds and playing the DGR game.

I have 4 guaranteed DGR starters this week in Walton Jr, Ili, White and Oliver.

Harrison > Loe is locked in. Don't particularly want to field Loe but I also don’t want to trade Davis with him on B2B doubles 3/4

Loe, White (Henshall, Leaupepe)
Oliver (Olbrich)
Walton Jr (C), Ili (Davis, Hickey)

Don't really want to move Davis with his DGR next 2 rounds but the other option is to move Leaupepe or Hickey.

By my calculations we have 19 trade rounds this season + 4 boosts, so there’s not point holding trades. I think Hickey is the one likely to be culled despite being on the double for someone from Sydney / Adelaide or Cairns.

Which would you pick?

Trades looking likely to be

Leaving me $117k to possibly bring in Cotton and 1-2 x ADL/CNS Rd3.
I'm not sure if it's the play... but I don't mind it.

Otherwise it's probably this one...

Still allows me $88k to bring in Cotton and 1-2 x ADL/CNS Rd3
Which probably sets me up better.

Davis & Henshall are my only single gamers this week, thinking of just going Davis to Days and then back to Davis next week (also Walton and Hickey to Armstrong and import next week). Should net me some points and money and with trades so abundant I can't see why not. Will only need to hold off on one trade for the rest of the season then.

I’m looking at very similar trades too with Harrison > Loe. My only concern with Mayen is that the 34 ceiling game he had round 1 will not be included in his price change as they play single this round then double next.

I think he’s pretty locked into 25-30 minutes a game - Adelaide don’t have the greatest depth at the 3/4 spot and generally run a tightish rotation.

Ended up deciding to trade Davis > Days as my 2nd spare trade with the plan to boost next week potentially. Moves Loe to the bench and I basically guarantee a price rise out of Days as opposed to Davis who I will get back on next week via Walton Jr.

Potentially looking at something along the lines of:

Walton Jr > Davis
Hickey > Makoi (if Armstrong not back)
Leaupepe > Harrell

Pros
- get one price rise out of both Hickey and Leaupepe
- get 2 Adelaide players with DGRs in 3/4
- Increase my starting 5 score this round - 1 Days (2 games), 0.5 Loe (2 games) v 1 Loe (2 games) v 0.5 Davis (1 game)

Cons
- Committing myself to not being able to get Cotton as I am very, very high on Davis
- Rd 5 DGR potentially difficult with only Jackjumpers and NZ playing (boost planned here for NZ/Tassie although I may also want to bring one in round 4.

New to basketball completely and NBL, do they release an injury list every week like they do in the AFL? I have Groves and he went of injured right at the end of his game for Cairns, might have been cramp.. might have been worse. If he were injured would it be announced anywhere? Because they don't name teams before the game like the afl does if he isn't starting 5 i wont no that he isn't going to get minutes until like qtr time when it is obviously too late. Notice Tasmania did release news that Magnay is good to go, but have seen nothing from Cairns, can i assume he's fine?

Teams are released about 30 minutes before each game. I usually post them here.
Available on the match centre on the NBL site.
Also a page for injury news or you can check out the NBL on X.

Click on the game you want around 25/30 minutes before.

Injury list (just check it during the week)

Cheers thank you, but excuse my ignorance, do they just name a starting 5? Or do they name a full team of people who can play? I've noticed on the boxed scores there a players on there who play 0 minutes. I.e so if Groves wasn't named in the starting 5 that doesn't necessarily mean he's not playing. Cam oliver wasn't named in the starting 5 but played heaps of game time

No guarantee if the bench players get minutes i'm afraid.
But the named bench are available and not injured.

Oh awesome, that is good to know though, so if they are listed on the bench in the boxed score half an hour before the game starts it means they are available and not injured. thanks

Depending on roster size but looks like most have around that 11-13 range available on game day. Key is finding players that have a clear role and that may be from the starters or as a bench player to take advantage of fatigued starters or a lack of depth in the second unit of the opposition, etc which is why Oliver’s bench role is still lucrative. Sometimes players may be benched for size, spacing, etc or to stagger minutes to ensure key ball handlers, etc are always on.
