I will give you an example. He has a few players such as Natarajan, Kohli, Faf, Rahul, Jadeja and Chahal who neither of us have, so we may choose to take them on. Naturally he will trade out some of those which makes it tough to forecast, but we may choose to take on one or two of those players with a different player each.

Captain is the other one. I am 90% sure he will run with Head given he has previously. If we both choose to take Head on with an alternative captain we may want to make sure that we don't choose the same alternative.

At the end of the day it comes down to what your ultimate aim is. If it is to finish as well as you can, you may choose to ignore what he might do and be happy locking in second or third. If it is to try and take him on it will require a couple of risks to open up PODs.

My guess is that he will trade one of Kohli or Faf and play a loop on the other. He may loop Klassen and use Rahul as the backup, but that will be hard given Lucknow play second, so he may hold a trade for that. He may also loop Jadeja, but he could field him and loop a fringe SRH player instead and use a couple of Ashwin, Chahal, Narine and Russell as the back ups and field two of them.

So many combinations, but it is fun trying to second guess!
No idea

I reckon he will add Bhuvi for sure

ABHISHEK , du Plessis , HEAD , Kohli

Salt / KLAASEN

BHUVI , CUMMINS , Narine , NATARAJAN , Russell

= 11

Does he go Reddy and another SRH bowlers or trust du Plessis (doubt he trades out Kohli)

If not :-

Fraser-McGurk (BYE) , Jadeja , Rahul

Ashwin , Chahal , Kuldeep

At least one gets traded out

As for who else it could be anyone

If I end up going :-

7 x SRH
+ DreRuss & Narine

My final 2 players will be out of Ashwin , Jaiswal , Samson & Starc (he only owns Ashwin) so I am relying on 2 players and VC to catch him

188 points behind him

I will do a full debrief on this season after it's finished but one of the themes I intend to touch on is the fact that I made a series of decisions intended purely to make money early in the season and I have still ended up a cool million or more behind you guys! (I have approximately 12m value including cash.)

A solid chunk of this can be put purely down to not trusting Rishabh Pant's body to get through the whole season - in the end, the only game he missed was for the suspension!
Their was a obscene amount of value players at the beginning when selecting starting sides.

Haven't traded Narine out but he almost increased in value by $ 1 million !!!

The number of deliberate donuts we choose to carry can affect cash generation too. From memory you carried one or two more, where I swung them in and out for cash generators as I needed them.

So a quick bit of analysis of the top ten teams just in case anyone might want it...
Capture.PNG
Orange is obviously any SRH players carried through, blue is Delhi plus anyone we know has already left (Salt, Buttler). Probably should have added Curran too? But I can only see him twice.

The number underneath each team is players available before trades. It looks like a lot of players are missing but with three, possibly four trades in hand, nobody is going to be struggling to field a team.

Then the meat: who has everyone got? Since pretty much everyone has Head, Abhishek and Klaasen, it's a fair bet the bowlers are the targets this round. The second column is where the bulk of remaining players will be - and all these players will play in the very last game, don't forget! Third column was going to be anyone else interesting but Jadeja was the only one who appeared more than twice.

Make of it what you will...

Finished up on 859 and slid back to 13th from 10th. Far from ideal although I expected worse. My 3 RAJ trade ins being Samson, Buttler, and Sandeep all failed to fire. Thankfully my other trade in Mukesh was excellent and has been great for me this season also scoring 112 in his other double as a POD.

Hoping to finish top 10 from here.

It's a secret but Head won't be my VC or C 😀 , already decided I needed a different captain.

Can lock in Curran - > Bhuvi

Abhishek , Head
/ Klaasen
Bhuvi , Cummins

Will need to think if I go 2 more SRH or try something else

The zig and zag approach might be working because I am seriously considering running with nine SRH!

I will still probably leave the wrong two out! :ROFLMAO: I will be hoping that a couple that BF has fail even if I have them and a couple of outsiders pull a big score.

9 !!!!!

Goodness gracious me.

I am not confident in Klaasen let alone the other 2 I am looking at.

Who out of the other 4 ?

Ahmed , Samad , The Sri Lankan , Unadkat

You have the magic touch so I am sure they will all go 100+ and the competition will be yours.

As they say, "desperate times call for desperate measures." No point playing safe with so much to catch up.

Ideally they need to bat first (I think) , Travishek might chase down anything batting second.

Bowlers have taken 28 wickets in 5 home games.

I guess realistically if they score 60 minimum on a DGR they are outscoring most SGR players on average.

That is part of my thinking. The lesser sorts get two goes to jag 50-75 (if they don't get dropped/rested) where the likes of Kohli could get a jaffa first ball. Lower percentage play in terms of quality of player who could put me to the sword, but nothing to lose and at least the others het get two cracks at it. Also banking on SRH still having something to play for, so hoping they don't try and change things up too much which is always a risk at the tail of the season.

SRH win both they could end up 2nd.

That's my concern with KKR , guaranteed to finish top.

Could see DreRuss having a rest.

They probably would want to see Gurbaz & Narine have a bat together.

I am not sure exciting is the right word , this is damn stressful.

No idea how @Diabolical handled winning BBL SC once let alone twice , must have nerves of steel.
I can definitely see how it would be stressful, but try to enjoy the hunt.

I reckon you can uncover something to at least give yourself a good chance of the cards falling your way.

That is probably part of the secret, to just enjoy the moment. Don't get caught up second guessing yourself and letting things cloud your decision making.

Once we make our decisions and they are locked in we can't change them. No point point getting down on making the wrong decision once it is out of our hands given we can't do anything about it. Better off spending our energy on planning the next move. If it doesn't work, just take heart in knowing that we gave it our best shot.
