I ended up with only 3 from rd1...Cook, Fermor and Sam Hughes. Sam Hughes being the Player Of The Season for me...nah really it was Cookie who was so consistent I only made one trade in HKR all year. Lussick to Hands.
Cook is such a crazy hold, slowish start, then dropped by a desperate coach on his last legs, has the bye, then he has games against the storm and panthers, while not playing the first major bye round either. So many would've dumped him. He had a great run home, although I was afraid of Mamouzelous all season.

Honestly I still don't get what Souths were doing over the last couple of months. Season is over and their 33 year hooker signs with the dragons, surely you would've started the transition to giving Mamouzelous more time. But good news for us next season I guess.

Can see Mamouzelos being a great bargain next season, should be around 320k based on his season average. Rabbitohs will definitely score loads of points next season with a fully fit backline of Mitchell, Johnston, Tass, Graham, Munro, Walker & Dodd. Still a relatively weak front row but I'll take a 60+ mins hooker at that price.

Mamouzelos will be the highest owned hooker next season I'm certain of that, the big question will be if you pair him with a gun or a rookie.

Here’s hoping there’s another mid ranger that pumps gun numbers like Robson early this year. Verrills is one I have an eye on at the start of every season but he can’t seem to stay injury free or play 70+ mins consistently

Here's where I ended up. A bit of a disappointing season. A lot of injury carnage early on, but I need to be more aggressive in getting in the likes of Lomax, Kiraz, Holmes, Young earlier. Plenty to think about for next season.

Is it better to go Rookies at HOK to get those Gun CTWs early?

It's a tough question, I think there are just so many factors at play. When is there first bye, price, do they play origin, draw, what is their role in the team? (I think there are a ton more as well).

Now with rookie Hoks, I just don't think they really exist. This season we basically had Levi and that was it, guys like Chan Kum Tong, Muhleisen, Mamouzelous, Mozer, Simpkin, FLusick would've been terrible picks (even if taken at Hok2 they would've been AE nightmares for most of the year).

Levi made about 135K and that was after going on a tryscoring run, I don't think playing him at Hok1 was the answer although if you flipped to a Grant it wouldn't have been the worst call.

Now we do get some midprice options like Hands, Lussick & Brailey I think if it looks like they are getting a 60 minute role you have to seriously consider them.

At the start of the season I'm a big believer that the comp is much tighter so the CTWs just don't score as much, your Hok, FRF & SRF are more likely to get you some consistent scores. But that doesn't mean someone like Ronaldo won't score 8 tries in 5 games and be averaging 120.

Also CTWS tend to have the best rookies, so I don't think you can load up too much on CTW guns to start the season.

So with all this said, if I'm picking a CTW gun to start the season - they need to have a high workrate, potentially play origin and goalkick. I think you need to start at least one maybe two of these guys.

My main goal will be to save trades, I don't want to burn a stack of trades at Hok and I don't want to be bringing in guys like Holmes, To'o and Lomax at Round 7 only to have to trade them out when origin comes.

The CTW guns I'm considering to start would be Holmes, Garrick, Lomax, To'o and maybe even Kiraz. I would most likely fade the likes of Young, Ronaldo and most other CTWs.

But I'm a nrl SC dinosaur unfortunately, I need to adapt a little more to the modern game.

Think I’ll give Lomax a miss at the start of next season, loses goal kicking to Moses & want to see how he scores at centre with the new combination. Campbell Graham almost a must have at around 560k.

Spot on. This is what makes things difficult. Every year isn't the same, just because they were a gun one year doesn't make them a gun the next.

If Lomax keeps the gk and ends up on the right wing I think he's a good option but if he ends in the centres and loses the gk I'll be fading him.

I'm interested to see who ends up being Feldts replacement, looks like a goldmine with Drinky feeding that winger.

For me CTW is such a tough position to pay up initially.

Cows with a fresh backline with Feldt & Val leaving. Can see them lining up with something similar to:

1. Drinkwater
2. Purdue
3. Chester/Vailea
4. Laybutt
5. Taulagi

I know Purdue is more of a halfback/fullback but he’s played a few games this year at centre & wing so there’s a chance we get a bottom dollar cheapie there.

Nah...good players will always be good players. Broncos only had 3 or 4 good SC players....patty, haas and walsh
I'm interested to see what they do.

I think the obvious possible change is that Billy Walters no longer has a mortgage on the number 9. If Mozer gets closer to 50 minutes he could be a very good option.

A new coach will probably want to bring in some more players and get rid of a couple.

Who knows what they'll do tactics wise and with players roles.

Maybe they'll move Carrigan to an edge. Give Haas less minutes in the hope he can really dominant the middle.

Should be a good preseason watch, to see what emerges.
