Taking a look at my byes this year. Had the plan this year to not base starting decisions around bye availability, and instead take best available. Trading was a little bit cautious, however was never a deciding factor between players to trade in.

Pre Bye Ranking - 6,803

Round - Score - Overall Rank
Round 12 - 2,041 - 5,876
Round 13 - 2,066 - 3,418
Round 14 - 2,170 - 1,580
Round 15 - 2,227 - 979

Managed to improve round score each week, with rounds 13,14,15 all having a weekly ranking of 1,523 and under.

Very impressive, that’s an awesome jump up the rankings through the byes 👏👍

Scored 2084 with weekly rank ~15k, feels about as good as I can hope for given I decided to save trades for the run home. Feels like bye rounds have 3 factors where you have to be pretty good:

1) premo bye structure
2) playing rookies
3) enough trades to play aggressively through the byes
3.5) cash to go with that

I keep emphasiising the premo bye structure in my planning but I've been burned multiple years by not focusing enough on the other factors. You'd think I'd work it out sooner or later :ROFLMAO:

Anyway, writing this up as a reminder to myself for 2025!

Rd12 2026
Rd13 1930
Rd14 1943
Rd15 2168 = 8067 for the byes which I’m very happy about, past seasons I’ve winged it TBH which has had mixed results, ranking was steady, starting at 1918 and finishing 1725. To be brutally honest with myself I can’t see my team holding a top 2k spot let alone move up, I just don’t have enough heavy hitters, I’ve given it every chance to hang around for a while and be a pain in leagues for my opponent with Macrae/Oliver M9/F7 and Fisher available to swing in def if needed, but that is where my seasons is at now.
