First boost for the season done and dusted over here.

Fisher/Sexton/LDU > Steele/Darcy/Green

Very happy with all 3 of those ins, and can finally enjoy watching Green. LDU was a reluctant sell, just feel Green has gone to another level this year in what appears to be the team to beat.

Depends on when you think you're going to need the money and how much of it. Likelihood of different outcomes and so on.

Dempsey could max out at 350k in 4 weeks' time, say. 130k profit. Reid could make it to 400k by round 12 for a 160k profit. Dempsey is probably the better option then

Disclosure: I've gone Wilson > Dempsey for this reason
Reid only needs one spike score and Dempsey a spud score to switch those scenarios.
Not sold on upgrading Wilson after one price rise to another rookie. It’s cost you $50k that Wilson could make this round. you’re behind on the equation before you even started.
No crystal ball though, I hope Dempsey does the business for you

I'm trying to decide as well, and one extra consideration is the timeframe in which I'll want to move them on. With the DPP changes coming in a few weeks, I'll likely want to move on quite a few of my def spuds, and shift a combination of Mckercher/ Roberts/ Fisher/ Khamis into the def line.

With Richmond having the round 6 bye, Brown may score more week to week, but he'll have one less price rise compared to Draper across any given period of time.

That being said I'm still leaning towards Brown... lots to consider.
I’m afraid I don’t have a lot to add on this discussion, but wanted to say welcome to the site, and good first post.

Great to see a number of new members posting, and some longer-standing members making their first posts!

Used my boost in the end and absolutely no regrets (so far).

Had already used the two trades on;

OUT: Rankine, Hore
IN: Jordan Clark, Darcy

Was tossing up whether to use the 3rd on a certain ‘premium’ mid who is not scoring like one and did end up pulling the trigger on;

OUT: LDU
IN: Steele

Now have a bit of cash to spend on a trade plan over the next couple of bye rounds which may not have been achieved had I held LDU.

Do we believe Sam Darcy is a must have trade in?
whilst there is no doubt he will make a large amount of cash this round ($60k approx) do we see him having strong job security considering Lobbs performance in the twos?
I would also need to boost to get him in which has me doubting the necessity to bring him in…
thoughts?

The Lobb threat is likely to always be there given the cash poured down the drain to acquire his services and unlikely to receive any certainty in regards to long term job security.

With uncertainty around upcoming rookies I think you have to take him. Even if he misses games, with the ultra low BE he’ll make money eventually. I don’t mind having him sitting at F8 and making money over a longer period if necessary given after this week you can still cash him out for a good profit if you need to.

Will potentially get DPP status in a couple of weeks time too, so could be a handy R3

Hello, I'm new to this thread. I find it hard to keep up with the 30 plus pages, but appreciate everyone posting their thoughts.

I've only traded once this season and have in the past been reluctant to trade early. I fully understand cash gen is king and rectifying dud picks is necessary.
So after fielding Burgess and not looping I find myself in a pickle. I've used a boost and completed the following trades.
Out - Jordon maxed out and bye next week, but playing WC, Newcombe $40k too late, and Phillips Hawks 🤔 still holding Coffield.

In - Darcy unsure with Bevo, Elijah Hollands and Powell GC in defence as a nice pod.
My team looks like this.

Very disciplined of you so far Prof!

I think a boost is a good idea though.

A few thoughts from me … I know you won’t copy/paste someone else’s suggestion, so I’ll just give you some ideas and potential building blocks 🙂

- Powell seems okay, but I’m not sure you need 5 premium defenders with only 3 premium mids and 1 premium forward.

- Cash is key as you say. Mannagh, Sexton and Coffield can hopefully be replaced with better cows near term. I think getting good cows in is a key priority.

- I’m a bit unsure about trading Phillips over Coffield given the latter is injured. I’m guessing this is to raise cash this round, but focusing on future cash gen might be more beneficial.

- Flanders looks very attractive as a way to sure up your two weakest lines, at a good price. Could be F1.

- Hollands will be interesting to watch, but it seems like waiting a week could be wise. Would be more appealing if forward eligible or getting more CBAs.

- Holding Jordon near term seems fine to me.

- Harvey Thomas looks like a POD rookie worth considering for a quick cash boost. I would likely get him if I didn’t have to use a third boost to do so!
