Figured it out:
this week
In: HGarcia, Mcauliffe, Walsh
Garcia and Mcauliffe play early, but the trade out options all play late so I can figure out which 3 of 4 pending selection and if I ultimately decide Sanders is worth holding through the dip:
Out, 3/4 of Sharp, Dempsey, Sanders, Williams.

leaves ~340k in the bank for next week:
In Petracca, stewart, RGarcia
Out Dambrosio, + some combination of Lazz/Wilson/Darcy/whoever is left of the 4 above.
If I'm just short of petracca depending on cash gen from the relevant players and who i ultimately decide I want to keep, then Green is handy alternate.

One to watch to see how he performs:

Clayton Oliver - Breakeven160 - Current Price $502,100 - Total Price Change -$172,000

‘Ready to go’: Oliver backed to return to best as coach defends injury plan

Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin defended the decision to wait for the club’s bye to have crucial finger surgery for Clayton Oliver despite the impact it had on his form after an already tough pre-season.
But ahead of Wednesday’s Anzac Day eve clash with Richmond, Goodwin said Oliver “embraced” the club’s call and now he’d had the work done had “got that smile on his face” again and was ready to perform against the Tigers.

Oliver, who spent time away from the club over the pre-season as he dealt with a raft of issues, carried the finger issue for three games and his waning output led to heavy criticism.

The All-Australian star wore a protective glove but was visibly hampered by the injury against the Brisbane Lions before using the 12-day break between games to have surgery it was hoped would “set him up for the rest of the season.”
On Tuesday Goodwin said that appeared to have been a success and while the criticism had to be endured, he was confident Oliver had come out the other side in the best way possible.
“There’s no question that carrying that finger for three weeks, the weight of that in the last game, especially, was getting really hard for him,” Goodwin said.

“So to get that fixed, to get him healthy and to get him functioning really well is important. And you can see once again similar to the start of the season, he’s got that smile on his face. He’s got that eagerness and that energy to come out and perform.”
Goodwin said the club never wavered on wanting to use the bye to repair the damage.

“No, it was always planned to be done in that period – it was pretty compact sort of time for our fixturing obviously so it was always planned to do that,” he said.
“Clayton was aware and embraced that that was the situation and he wanted to go down that path, so the main thing is it’s been fixed and he’s ready to go.”
The 4-2 Demons will also get back livewire Kysaiah Pickett from suspension for the MCG showdown with Richmond.

No need to move on him this week, but worth a watch now I reckon. If he tonnes up again everyone brings him in next week and you have no advantage. If he fails when Libba comes back and you've gone early not so great.

I'm holding. I reckon Sanders can get close to 400k by the byes.
I disagree. B/E of 64 this week. No advantage if you get him in along with everyone else next week if he goes 120+ again this week. There are calculated risks that need to be taken here and there. Can't play with complete safety all of the time.

Going to be interesting to see how he goes with people also targeting Petracca in the high $500ks over the next couple of weeks.

If Oliver pulls out a 120 against the Tigers and can be got for $100k less, a discounted Trac might be left on the shelf.

Garcia and McAullife in for Williams and Massimo. Trading Williams no matter what. With all the DPP changes I don't need him. Leaves me $487,900.

Can use my last boost and finally get a "proper" F3 if you allow me to count Powell at F2 🤭

So it would be pay up for Heeney, or get Zorko, Macrae.

Another question is who goes. Darcy, Cadman, Comben or Sexton or Coffield making Comben D7 Reid D8

General trend this week, seems to be a trade in like the Walsh types, who'll be more likely than Macrae to score 120+ and also go up as much in $$$ as Macrae. Then grab Macrae next week after seeing if the role sticks, with Libba back in the team and Richards running around as the link man.

He is expensive but i'm not actually sure he will come down without an injury and i'm the only 1 in the top 20 without him. If he wasn't such a good VC/C option i'd probably go the Walsh option but not convinced of Walsh's ability to average 130+ from here whereas i could easily see Gawn average 140 with lots of spike games for captain. i already have a few PODs within the top 20, not owning Gawn isn't one i can sleep easy with.
Congrats on ranking! May just pay up for Gawn and boost this week, sumting like Williams, Massimo, Dempsey to Gawn, Garcia and Tunstill. Would like another mid rook istead of Tunstill for team balance but the cupboard is bare. In the above case Roberts and Comben move to defence.

Why Butters over Walsh? Definately going against the grain there?
Biggest reason for Butters is that I have the cash now and possibly wont have the luxury again.

I did look at Walsh and I don't dislike the trade. I could be over cautious, but back injuries are the worst. If it did flare up again, there is no set time limit. Club could say 1 or 2 weeks, then 4 weeks later it could still be 1 or 2 weeks. One of those, do I trade or hold scenarios.
Cerra back soon will also start the mid rotation merry go round.

Basically I just prefer Butters as a season long keeper to Walsh but each to there own. I have 2 more mid spots to fill and Trac will be 1 of them. The other spot will be probably one of Walsh, Dawson, Rozee, Neale, or Oliver. (On Clarry watch over the next few weeks,)

Change of plans, was going to bring in Macrae this week but there's no compelling reason to do so, just doing.....

Cadman > H Garcia
Drew > Walsh

Leaves $140k in the kick for next week, however there's a bit of a conundrum involved with next weeks trades which has to do with how this weeks teams fall.

Plan is to trade Williams, Massimo and Dempsey out but I'll be relying on R Garcia to be named to facilitate a downgrade, he's the only option available to make my other 2 trades work.

What I could do is boost this week instead of next week and bring McAuliffe in for Williams which at the very least locks away some funds. The alternative is a FD if Garcia isn't named, of course if he is named then I'll have to pass because I'll have taken McAuliffe this week. TBH I'm suss on both of then JS wise but if McAuliffe has taken Ross's spot then he's good to go for more than a few weeks.
