SC BBL had a designated AR position for their inaugural year in BBL|06.

wow Finch was good once 😀

$ 196,800.00

Quiney & Gulbis , names from the past

Still not sure how Quiney played 2 Tests (9,0,0) , didn't he play because they didn't want to expose someone 🤔

Both he & Gulbis were very good BBL players

I knew you would know 😀

Actually didn't mind that , more thinking required.
I'm confident that a few of us here would be more than equipped to administer & run such a competition. We're not only blessed with a core group of great fantasy coaches, but also great thinker on how to make these games even greater from an engagement and enjoyment POV.

I didn't play this comp so I'm not actually sure, but does that mean you have one player benched on each line?

If so, that would make looping very difficult to execute, at least with a schedule like this year's with almost no byes. That's not necessarily a positive or negative thing, but a point of interest. Now, if you could bench any four of those 15...
That is correct, only the one bench player on each line.
For your reference, below was the fixture schedule for BBL|06 (only 35 matches in total compared to 61 for this season)...and we all survived.

Great conversation.
To expand on Darkie's point, and without trying to sound mean: You have to try and keep some relative simplicity to the rules. You have to assume that at least 10-15% of people won't understand it, no matter how simple you make it. The more complicated, the higher that % goes. Currently, I would guess around 30% don't have a complete grasp of the rules.
You really don't want that number going higher.

My own 2 cents.
I hate the "golden ball", and "golden run" concept. That is currently the 18th ball, and 20th run, and those particular milestones can add 30+ odd points to a players score.
That's too much.

I also hate the "golden ball" on an over.
Bowl 5 dot balls, and you are bowling the last ball for 16 points.
Solution, though probably too complicated, given my opening comment.
Remove the 15 points for a Maiden over. A Maiden currently scores the bowler 21 points.
Make it 1st dot ball 1 point, 2nd dot ball in an over 2 points, etc.
A Maiden is still worth 21 points, but you are getting your reward if you bowl 5 dot balls. No "golden ball"!
As counter to this, tighten ER bonus points in 1 run per bracket, as the bowler is getting bigger rewards for dot balls.
Row, just confirming whether you want this posted on twitter? After your 2c. 😁

Some great suggestions no doubt.

@Professor

But nothing at all about trades.

Allow the same number of trades we have now but let coaches use them as they wish

eg 1-2 a round , bank the rest for the future

maybe affects the casual player too much , those that actually think and strategise rounds in advance get to benefit when they can use their "banked" trades and have 4-5 or more available in a Round.

Do a lot of us automatically use 3 trades each round because they are their ?

Or have a "wildcard" option where once (or twice) a season you can use 5-6 trades in that round (and it doesn't affect your balance)

Maybe the casual player who is down and out then has the chance to reset 50% of his/her team and their interest improves.

I love the ability to think about using trades or not. But a lot of people dont utilise the bench at all and just trade 3 "premiums" each round. I can only imagine how quickly they will be out of trades if given 5-6 a round.

5-6 is the wildcard , only available once or twice per season.

I'm not sure if this would work.. but would scoring systems be changed to have a third group for DPP players? Bat only players have something that supports them, bowlers only the same, and then all rounders/DPP have a more balanced system (that maybe mirrors the bowler and bat systems but slightly less points per action? Seems like some of the issues come from there being a class of players that effectively get to double dip across the two scoring systems, meaning anything that tries to balance either will also continue to benefit all rounders.

First innings in trouble but should get cricket in.
Sounds like we might get something similar to the Stars vs Heat game earlier in the season where we each team gets a 10-12 over inning? If so, it could be ok for anyone that has opening batsman, but bad for bowlers as they may not even be allowed to bowl the 3 overs needed for ER points!

Great catching up on this conversation.

Something I have thought about is every player starting off with points then they pay to get opportunity in the game. This can also benefit a rain shortened game so at least players have a chance to score.

For example every player starts with 20 points. If they come in to bat in the first over they lose the 20 points, second over 19 points and so on. When bowling, the player loses a point for every ball they bowl.

So in theory a player who opens and bowls four overs has the most to lose (20 + 24 = 44 points) meaning they could theoretically finish on -24 points. However they have had more opportunity to score so that should get o***et. A player who doesn’t bowl and comes in to bat in the final over but doesn’t face a ball only loses 1 point so at least scores 19 points rather than zero.
