Yeah, the BBL is scheduled at a horrible time, not many decent players are going to be available for the entire tournament. Covid has made things worse than usual this year too. It's a bit disappointing that there's not many star players involved, and those who are will only play a few matches. Rule changes to "spice things up" is not the answer.

first paragraph just confuses me even further though
they play Dec 10 , 13 , 15 & 19
NZ v WI series finishes on the 15th so the article about Paul had him being available from the 19th.
If Ingram is Malans replacement until he arrives (Malan is only part of the T20 Squad so if he leaves South Africa at the conclusion of that series then does his 14 day quarantine then , he could be available for that game as well otherwise he waits a week and flys over with the 7 other English players (+ Tahir (?) in the 10th and is ten available from the 26th.
And depending on Lamichanne it could all completely change again.
Might be a case of waiting for actual team announcements each match to see which OS players are actually named.
Fortunately none of the Hurricanes OS players feature in my plans.

so probably a 35-40 ppg player , might be ok for DGR but certainly wouldn't look to keep him for the whole season.
probably would back Stanlake in to match him in the DGR for $ 55 k less.
Don't think he will make Afghanistan's ODI Squad for their series in January

The wicket keeper spot looks quite difficult to me.
Wade, Bairstow, Billings, Banton - Not available.
Pooran - unclear but doesn’t sound like he will be available.
Leaves:
Inglis - Should definitely open first few weeks but maybe goes down to 3 if they go with the two English openers? Breakout season last year. Is he worth 160k, especially with no doubles early?
Phillipe - Lock to open. Another young developing player, but seems prone to some lower scores in comparison to Inglis who seems more consistent. Can go massive. But again, 150k? I’d be shocked if he isn’t cheaper prior to his double.
Harper - Has to be some question marks over his spot in the batting order. Does Harris make the 11? He’d be my pick if opening but every chance the gades to Finch/Harris/Marsh/Roussow/Webster. Seems risky - especially playing last round of round 1.
Handscomb/McDermott - Cheap and double early. But where do they bat? If opening or at 3 they seem to be worth the pick, but are they worth it at 4 or 5?
Bancroft - cheap, but for a reason. Does he come in at 3 until Roy/Livo get here or does he still end up further down the order? Not too confident in him.
Gotch/Dunk - early double and re-evaluate? Or is it going a player just because they have a double.
At the moment I’m leaning to whoever is the highest up the order from the Canes, but man it seems slim pickings. That’s just the starter too, the reserve spot ain’t easy either imo.
