Hogg & Hodge were still playing well enough at that age to be in the Australian T20 side , I am.sure their was serious talk about Hogg especially being picked for one of the T20 World Cups.
But that’s kinda my point, if they are good enough to do a role for a team then they shouldn’t be pushed out in favour of a lesser youngster making his way. There’s plenty of opportunities for youngsters to make it in the BBL, and they’d be appreciative of having the older heads playing in the team and being around the squad.

If we promote pushing the youngsters too much, you get rid of the quality from the competition which makes it less of a spectacle (which is kind of the point of the BBL).

$42Ker's........................Round 2 'Renshaw' in and 'Larkin' warming..............trade 3x Stars for 3x Strikes.....................another 3x Strikes in round after that............................set up for Rens/Sixers into round 4 and on......................you know.

About $38K left.....................pretty flexible coming into round 1..................

Bit of luck with the prices, bit more luck with injury.....................and a lot of luck picking 'THAT' player @ the right time.

ag

ps - but like many, it'll probably change tomorrow lol
Won't you need at least 1 of your $ 42 k players to be playing in Round 3 though ?

Starting 7 Stars , trading 6 , leaves 1 on the bench.

Fair enough , I guess if they are still performing each game then age shouldn't be a factor.

Maybe they need some sort of reserves comp to put pressure on the incumbents , all costs money I guess.

I think the playing standard of the BBL has dropped substantially in recent seasons so thought maybe seeing some of these other youngsters injected might offer some extra excitement.

I guess this season without a domestic one day comp so far has made it even harder to showcase their talent.

Maybe we need to talk to NZ cricket and send some of our emerging players to play over their in their Smash series.

It's interesting though how many 19-21 year olds got their chance in the recent IPL and performed to a high standard consistently.

They seem to give their youngsters more of a opportunity even with their National players all available and extra OS players and the standard of cricket is still high.

I found now where I read he had COVID, surely no chance for Round 1?
I’m not fully across how it all works but that article was from 27 November and said he had been in quarantine the week before that.

Will he just need to do his two weeks quarantine and have three consecutive negative tests to be given the all clear to play BBL?

Herb,

I'll carry 'Larkin' on the bench rounds 2/3..................and look to move him on after round 4........................just depends how the trading $$$$'s pan out.

No extra protection for round 3 and on....................that's the risk.

Without too much change in SSSS's....................round 2 - 4x canes, 4x strikes......................round 3 - 7x strikes.........................round 4 re-evaluate for the coming round 6 doubles.

7th striker a toss up between 'Wells/Weatherald'.

The big ??? is Stoinis round 1

Side strains, as you know in footy, can be shocking trouble for an athlete.........................so I'm guessing he's an out round 1. But he brings plenty of cash to the equation, so it's not really a prob him being in or out....................just good it's happened now.

I mucked around last night with a diff theme........................a more balanced mob.......................dropped out what I thought were my worst and changed them to 'Phillipe/Inglis/Dwarshuis/Cutting'........................less doubles impact and more an actual 'class against current opp' theme...............not too shabby lol

ahhhhh......................decisions.....................you know what I mean ay !!

Indecision they reckon's the root of all.......................not in supercoach lol

cheers mate ag

Anyone’s guess! He’s also quarantining in Perth so you can probably expect that the approach would be much stricter compared to anywhere else!

I guess all we really have to go by at the moment is that article from the Stars website which says he’s available for the full season so I’m going to treat him as playing round 1 for now.

IF both Play Round one who do you pick?

Dilbar Hassain Vs Billy Stanlake?

good 50/50 this one! - Hassain maybe with the more upside, but poor lead up to game one. hmm I will take Stanlake for the time being.
I was actually desperately searching for an extra 6k to get the team I wanted so the Stanlake to Hussain ‘downgrade’ is perfect for my situation.

Their are currently 15 players priced at $ 62,500.00 & 13 players priced at $ 42,000.00 who can be selected in the bowl position.

Theoretically Hussain should have the best JS of them all , how that relates to scores and the potential to make $$$ remains to be seen.

Almost feel like you have to pick him if he is available Round 1.

Now the questions are how bad was his Covid-19 , how quickly has he recovered and when can he resume training to prepare to play.

Based on batting ability , Hussain 😉

The joy of how they calculate averages in cricket.

You would be very annoyed if they decided to rotate them both with 1 game each.

Just emailed 7 of the clubs asking for clarification on their OS players availability for the season and when they can/can't play.

Hopefully I don't get the work experience kid replying 😀

Hey mate, I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.

In the previous couple of seasons, were there more DGR's than this one? If so,

Would this affect your 3-4 players per DGR? Would it mean by having less DGR's this season, there is more time between DGR's to prepare for the next?
