I saw a good point about Khawajas 2020-2021 season is that he had a lot of off field distractions with his brother. This could’ve contributed to his poor form
It is a good point, I was wondering if the timing aligned as I was typing. I checked his Test stats, but he was out of the team from Aug-19 to Jan-22.

2/778, 12 SI. 10 SI to come.

Looking at other scores, we are probably 50-100 down on most similar ranked players. I think 26th might be our peak for a little while, but still time to bounce back.
There is still a fair bit to play out this round, with so many score involvements to come. Some of our Scorchers are also a bit more POD than I would have guessed.

Which scorchers are pod ish Darkie

Dorf was sub 30% ownership in the top 1% of coaches

Not sure any of this teams scorchers are below that?

6/975. 5 Scorchers to come.

Any early thoughts on trade plans for next round?

Some early thoughts are Lynn and Webster to Usman and Sams.
With a few SGRs I think we want to target some guys that are dual threat, so maybe any others there we don’t have.
Not locked in Usman.. think he’s class and should score well but don’t usually love bat only players.
Head the other one we possibly want to target?

Agreed, I reckon Lynn and Webster are pretty easy outs (if Stars are going to play that structure). Clarke is probably next, although it sounds like he has a decent looping draw near term if we wanted to try that.

Head seems like a good in if we think he will bowl - cheaper than Ussie, two strings and DPP.

If Sams looks fit he’d be high on the list too. I gather he didn’t last time out though, so it’s fortunate that we get a look at him tomorrow night.

Sams has a very high BE, and may again next round unless he goes big. Equally he does have a great role if fit, and it’s increasingly about points rather than cash.
I'd want to see Sams is fit before trading him in. As mentioned, he plays tomorrow, hopefully we'll see enough of him to judge either way.

We'll still need to keep cash in mind to some extent, it's not unlimited. Points are important too though, bringing in low BE players is not essential to build up cash reserves, but we have to remember there are still 4 rounds left. I don't want to get into a position where we have to use our last boost because we don't have enough cash.

Definitely. Hopefully we can keep a decent eye on him tomorrow and that will tell us what we want to know.

You are right about cash. As it happens our side is almost identical to mine, with only one player different, but I have almost 150k more cash. If I adjust for the cost of upgrading my POD to the missing player, I’d still have an extra 100k.

Maybe playing the BE game near term is wise. Sometimes a solid round or two can fix it.

Looking at the team, and assuming we want to hold all PS, HH and BH players for their upcoming doubles, we have 6 players that are SGR from here on:

Short
Abbott
Kerr
-----
Webster
Clarke
Lynn

Personally I think we do our best to hold the top 3 as long as possible - I'd feel pretty comfortable fielding all of them on a SGR. Bottom 3 can all go - Lynn being the main one given he is finishing up and isn't particularly useful as a loop given they play game 1 in round 10, game 2 in round 11, game 1 in round 12 and game 2 in round 13.

I think we probably have 2 options for round 10:

Option 1 (preferred) - trade in 2 good players and fix out loophole player
Given Connolly is not really safe as a loop (particularly with talk they may rotate some players over the next few games), I think we trade him out and get a player with a great looping run home - Holt. With all out bat/wk players it's good flexibility too!

Option 2 - Back in Connolly for loops and get 3 good players
The only round Connolly has a bad fixture for looping is their double, so we don't necessarily have to fix him not if he isn't getting named. So we could wait, trade in 3 good players, and fix the issue if it comes up.

In terms of trade ins, I would say at least 1 BH player in preparation for their double. Possible 2, and as they play game 1 in the 2 SGR rounds (round 10 & 11) we can easily loop them off the bench before committing to their scores.

Agree we can take a sighter on Sams tonight and reassess, he probably isn't critical unless fit so we can see how that goes and push back the extra BH player to the following week if needed.

Maybe a poll to get an idea of what BH players we'll want for their round 12 double? I'd suggest we set aside 1 trade and 1 spot for JRicho if he is back for that double, so if we have 5 PS players atm, we probably want at least 3(?) more BH players between now and then?

Connolly most likely doesn't get a game unless he replaces Agar. 🤫 Holt is in the Thunder squad, so keep a watch on him as a potential loop.

I think there could be some rotation of Scorchers bowlers over the next few games (personally hoping Dorff misses tonight :devilish:), but would expect Agar is pretty safe, having just returned to the side.

I wouldn't be completely surprised if Holt got a game, but he should be a reasonably safe loop.

Great writeup, and I like a lot of the ideas here.

Which players do we want to list in the poll?

Any other questions to include in the poll (eg around boosts or other yes/no type questions)?

Good question, I guess we could ask about what SGR players we want to target, or ask what players we want for round 12. Given the more immediate urgency is who we bring in, maybe we focus on trade ins for this round?

If we are happy with Lynn, Clarke and Webster being the outs we can focus our time on the trade ins and potentially get a poll up for those.

Tough to lock down names, a few I'm thinking:

Head
Sams
Warner
Usman
Neser
Holt
Brown

Or we could possibly do something like:

Trade 1 - SGR Scoring Player
Trade 1 - Future DGR Scoring Player
Trade 1 - New Loop Player
Trade 2 - SGR Scoring Player
Trade 2 - Future DGR Scoring Player
Trade 2 - New Loop Player
Trade 3 - SGR Scoring Player
Trade 3 - Future DGR Scoring Player
Trade 3 - New Loop Player

As basically ask people to vote for their favour of the 3 options for each trade?

Nothing against him, so happy to have him included (that was just a quick brain dump list). My only question mark is whether he is a priority over some other players given he is predominantly a bat only player with the bonus of some potential keeping points. But he has the pedigree so he's one to consider for the SGRs at least.
