Only 3 players - Billings, Neser and Steketee - average more than 50 at the Gabba, and most of the Heat squad has never played at GMHBA before. So much for exposed form at the two stadiums of their double!

Does anyone know much about historical team performances at GMHBA? Favours the bat or ball? I have a hazy memory of a lot of games being 4 or 5 wickets for somewhere between 160-180 runs, but not enough to say that with confidence!

Here are the team averages at the venues of their double:

Great round to zag imo.

Renshaw, Bazley and Neser seem to be the most common set of trade ins. With Steketee probably the 4th.

If Kuhnemann is in the XI you’d think it’s unlikely Renshaw gets more than over, probably doesn’t even bowl.

Munro and billings both proven in the bbl. Swepson is well undervalued. All 3 seem to be going well under the radar, but could easily outscore the more popular 4.

Many thanks!

Looks like ~146 runs on average and 5-6 weeks per side. very middling stats that don't necessarily favour bat or ball. Makes it tricky!

Yeah I tend to agree, outside of Steketee I'm going to hold off on which BH guys I grab until I see the 11 for tonight. Renshaw/Bazley could lose appeal if the team goes a certain way, and Kuhnemann being named could impact Swepson (or they could just both share spin wickets and neither goes bang).., much to ponder!

Honestly, I’ll take this score but I should be ashamed… cos I’ve managed to make 2 blunders in 2 rounds.

Rd 1. Accidentally got stuck with Sangha as Captain after being locked out while still creating my team.

Rd 2. Traded in and VC’d Mitch Marsh not knowing he was injured 🤦🏽‍♂️… had to settle for Thornton as C (shoulda just gone with MShort at the AO)

Any suggestions for future trades/or any tips appreciated.

I feel you there! I've had a couple of howlers as well.

At first glance, I would probably look at something like:

Marsh - Steketee (moving Stoinis)
Wood to Neser
Farooqi to Dooley
Rossouw to Renshaw/Bazley

Gilkes/Neilson/Hales/Sams/Connolly is your bench this week which isn't ideal as you have to play Dooley/Naveed on field, but you are in great shape to attack the next few rounds from there.

Going to the crowd with this one since i'm having a shocking start. (who doubles down on gilkes on field, fades richo, or takes a weatherald sized punt in rd1)

initial thoughts were clarke, farooqi, lyth out, potentially rkhan with a boost/BE reasons, who to bring in is the struggle

in dooley (BE too good to pass up), could loop with dorff/sams
CDG can loop with anyone other than a heat player on the bat line (probably hardie)

just looking for some others perspective on what others would do in my position

I’m considering holding Faf over Tye as a pod move. You’d think faf is too good to not make an innings over here. Downside if he fails is big though.
Dont really want to hold 3 Scorchers bowlers when they arent on doubles, especially when there next game is at the Junction which is usually an absolute runs paradise, I'd much rather be trading Agar but he'd leave me 1K short of the trade ins I want.

Weighing up Bazley v Rebshaw. Team lists will probably decide. Initial thoughts?
I think Bazley is a good pick regardless but if they go with six bowlers which is unlikely then his stocks decrease somewhat.

Renshaw is dependent on whether Kuhnemann is selected. I think he becomes an important pick if Kuhn isn’t selected but not overly important otherwise.

Was there anything in particular about Steketee that made him a must have for you?
Personally not too fond of many in the BH lineup and contemplating going without them for this round.

Who’s the ideal C candidate heat players?
Neser - available both games and should bat a bit higher than bazley
Steeks - In great form and expected bowl the death overs.
Bazley - last match also did very well, not sure if neser/bazley is going to bowl the death overs.
Renshaw - He’s Bane’s Matt short! Bats top 3 and can roll his arm around.
Swepson - attaching spinner up against a right handed middle order gades and strikers.
Thoughts?
