I say this every year, but thank you all for backing the format in - it means a lot that you entrust me with this thing. Long time SCSers will know this idea is actually @Connoisseur 's and not mine, but it was probably the single biggest factor in me going from being a lurker to a regular contributor so that when the opportunity came up, I felt very strongly about keeping it alive.

Speaking of the format, though... I still don't quite know what I want to do this year. The shortened season really makes it difficult to have finals, so it might just be a league table setup. The other idea I'm floating is to sort the pairs into pools at the start and do maybe semis and finals in R8 and R9 - if we have four pools, we can actually have every team involved right into the last round this way by having the equal placed pair in each pool playing for position.

Let me know if you have any ideas - still two weeks to go to get your side in!

Alright, 41 coaches in, and still a week to go.

So obviously with the shortened season it's gonna be a little different this year. I'll give you an idea of what I'm thinking...

* All teams are paired and sorted into four pools. This will work best with either seven or eight teams in each pool, so the target number is either 56 or 64 coaches.
* Rounds 1-7: head to head, round robin in your pool. If there are seven in each pool, one team will have a bye, in which case they will be matched with one of the other bye teams.
* Rounds 8-9: teams are matched with the other teams that came in the same position in their respective pool. These last two rounds are semis and finals. The winner of the #1 group will be champions, but every other group will also be playing for position.

No pressure, but I'm just going to quickly tag those who went around last year to see who wants to go around again...

Last call everyone!

I'd like to have this sorted by the end of the weekend so I have as much time to test millions of team combinations as everyone else, but I'll extend it as long as I need to to try to at least get an even number going. Here's hoping for 56!

If you're new - don't be shy! It's a great way to enjoy the game, just make sure you don't ghost ship (stop playing mid season) and you'll be fine!
