A gentle reminder to us all of the down side of bat only players.
I don't think it's guaranteed that Matty Short and Maxi are full blooded allrounders this year..............they may be mostly 'bat only' contributors this BBL too.................looking at their respective bowling line-ups...................lot to fork out for batters with sometimes an over or two at most??

And, it'll cost you more than 25% of your starting bank this year in the first 2x rounds chasing the best 2x rated players......................geezuz, hard swallow this for me..............and now Maxi's straight legged lol

Just a thought...................

So a team without Maxxxy and with M.Short/Overton/Hardie all ready for round 2.

Like it for the most part, wonder if Bazley is likely to play, if he's there as a nuff to move for DPP then fair enough, I'd consider Tom Rogers from Stars as a free swing in the first game.
Edit: I guess he's a bit more expensive though.

I’d be all for Clarke as well but what do you do with him after round 1 if that’s all he’s here for.

That awkward price where he’s a bit too expensive to leave as a loop but doesn’t really have enough cash on his head to trade.
Issue with a Clarke pick is I dont particularly want to have to be doing a Round 2 trade on the keeper position.

Really looming as the area of the side I have no real clue what to do with.

Interesting that Hassan Khan has been granted a NOC for the Big Bash before going to the ILT20.

Replacement for who ???

Signed by Guyana Amazon Warriors for the Guyana Global Super League

Stars could have got him to replace Mir for those first 3 games but we'll wait and see.

Attack looks too weak to be what they run with right now surely they are making moves.

Thinking out loud a bit here and want to see if others believe this will be what each of the Melbourne teams trot out throughout the season. Obviously the renegades have just the 15 players so far so it will likely change with new signings.

Renegades
JFM
Brown
Seifert
Harvey
Evans/Bethell (have paired together as I’m not sure how long each are playing)
Sutherland
Rogers
Zampa
O’Neill
Sandhu
Richardson

Stars
Rogers
Clarke/Duckett
Maxwell
Webster
Stoinis
Cartwright
Curran
Harper
Paris
McKenzie/Mir
Steketee/Couch

Drop Harper for the second spinner.

Do they need to drop Harper when they already have Webster, Curran and Stoinis along with one other seam option?

I’d have thought the two spinners in at the expense of the Steketee/Couch combo would make more sense.
I just don't think Harper fits in with the other keeper. Paris, Steketee and Mir can do alright with the bat.

Is Rogers even set to open? Obviously he has had the run over last 2 seasons, however he bats at 5 for Victoria in the Marsh and has had a relatively lean run of scores with Harper opening.

We were trying to get Hurricanes to clarify today but no luck. Got enough to run this

The Hobart Hurricanes are understood to have signed Pakistani spinning all-rounder Hassan Khan as a replacement for Bangladeshi leggie Rishad Hossain who’ll miss BBL|14.
