Trading or benching Allen is sensible but switching him to another position on-field makes no difference.
Precisely. Lots of talk about the flex but only two things really matter:
1) they have to play for you to get the benefit, as they can't be covered by an E. For this reason I'm just putting someone as early as possible in the round in this spot.
2) need to maintain structural flexibility. This will be more important for AFL/NRL but for us this probably means using a BAT or BWL only where possible. So for this round it might be Turner.

Agree. I think people are reading too much into the strategy around the flex given whoever you have at flex you can switch with somebody else from that same underlying position and you will get exactly the same outcome.

Up until last round I did agree with you to lock away the flex early so you don’t risk a DNP however with Shaw’s unexpected selection it would have been beneficial for my team if I hadn’t locked away Curran at flex after the first game. It would have given me a lot more options to deal with it. I now think you want to leave flex unlocked as long as possible each round with somebody guaranteed to play and ideally have another player from the same game you can switch with if necessary.

Do you know when typically the availability of test squad players is known? I have both Abbott and Jhye. Can trade both for DGRs but have Dorf too and prefer to trade him instead of one of them to maximize capital in play.
Hopefully we'll know before game 1... But I suspect we may only see 1 or 2 at most released (Inglis and Richo 12th and Richo 13th men, Abbott and Webster released).

Of course no guarantee that if they are released they play game 1 of the double.

Yeah agree, leaving it as late as possible is probably most beneficial, assuming the guy you have there isn't a late out.

There's probably a middle ground where you have someone who plays in the middle or second last game of the round that gives you flexibility but doesn't risk a late out.

I guess if one quick goes down in the warmup, they need a backup and a concussion sub?
Trying to think back to last season , think they just ran Boland and Green as the "spares" for the Pakistan series , although Morris was included initially as cover for Starc , can't remember when they released him.

Boland and Renshaw were the "spares" for the West Indies series.

Unless one of Boland , Cummins or Starc has a niggle that they are keeping quiet.

Head not yet 100% by all accounts so surely they don't add someone to the Squad as cover "just in case"

Good to see they announced Konstas debut today at least.

Finished on 1095, so a solid enough round to move me up from 662 to 298, although not very well placed this round and a bit stuck for thoughts/ideas considering I only have 3 dgw players right now, which is 1-2 behind the pack already, meaning I will probably gave to sell some of my higher priced non dgw guys like Short, Seifert, Sutho and buy back next week to be able to afford the big guns of Maxi, Bartlett, Hosein, Dwarsh, Walter etc.

What trades would you guys make with my team here?

Need this much time to sort out who to get out of Banton , Bartlett , Dwarshuis , Hosein , Maxwell , Usama , Walter + a few others on the short list.

Currently own :-

Peirson
Curran , Harper , McKenzie (injury concern) , Stoinis
Abbott (query) , Edwards , Philippe

Then need to make sure I can still get my Round 4 preferred trade targets.

Hopefully the selectors do us a favour early on Boxing Day.

Keep your AS and MR players for DGR Round 4 (7 DGR players), select 2 PS players to trade out, and possibly Konstas.
with your 3 trades select DGR players for Round 3 - from BS,SS,MS

Could do something like:
Seifert -> Harper
Short -> Maxwell
Konstas -> Walter
Richardson -> Dwarshius
Leaves $22.600

Could downgrade Maxwell and upgrade Harper to another keeper or upgrade Walter to a Bartlett/Hosein type. I think the outs that I have above are the ones I'd be trying to get rid of first.

Scored 1,029 which saw a slide in rank from 214th to 316th. Spewing about my decision to get Morris in when i decided to fade Short. Could have gone any other Perth player and they would have scored better. Also had a 50/50 decison between Phillipe or Dwarshius in. Decided on Phillipe as i was reluctant to play Dwarshius on field over Seifert. This week my 4 perth guys are fairly obvious outs allowing me to keep my 3 Renegades guys on the bench. Currently have Maxwell, Dwarsh, Mir and S.Johnson in. If Abbott plays both will likely go Maxwell to Bartlett to afford Mir up to him. Any knowledge on L.Scott's job security for Adelaide? Could go Hosein and Scott over 2 of Johnson/Mir/McSweeney/Banton. 6 dgw guys before trades so hopefully i can make up for just the 4 last round

I scored 1,075 for Round 2 and halved my rank to 1,470th overall... not too disappointed with that.

Will definitely use a boost this week with my trades at the moment looking like:
Short ---> Maxwell
Sutherland ---> Bartlett
Dorff ---> Walter
Jhye ---> Dwarshius

Leaves 7k remaining. Thoughts on these trades leaving me with 9 DGR players?

Merry Christmas all and I'm looking forward to getting back to Optus Stadium on Boxing Day and scoring for the big screens at the ground.

Finished with 1090 this round which was very solid all things considering. Running Short less was a concern but seems the right strategy so far.
Definitely will look at him in round 4 on the strikers second DGW.
Sitting 39th currently so I'll be keeping as many Rd 4 dgw players as possible.
Hopefully I'll keep my rank stable over the next 2 rounds. Well done on many great ranks from lots here so far and I'm certain more great coaches will be climbing the rank ladder aswell.
