At least it is the first game of the round so we can wait until the last minute before analysing latest weather info to help with finalising decisions. Worst case scenario will be a clearing forecast but a delayed start with toss after lockout!

If Marsh is released from the test squad like McSweeney was when dropped, he could potentially replace Hurst batting at the top of the order for the Scorchers. Just found out that Finn Allen can also keep wicket so no need for Hurst :-

If I was CA I would get someone like Connolly over there so he can get the Squad Environment and spend some more one on one time with Vettori before the Sri Lanka series/Champions Trophy

Wonder if one of Abbott or Richardson get released though

Sixers play Friday as well.

You'd think as he's been dropped, they'll release him from the squad. Doesn't make a lot of sense to keep him around the team (McSweeney would have been the perfect guy to keep around the squad, but they released him).

Who is the bat concussion sub then (if needed) ?

They all love him , ideal person to keep around the boys.

Should get a Scorchers Squad drop today so that might give us a clue

If true this just makes picking Hurst up in the first place even weirder... One thing if they weren't expecting Inglis to have full availability but Allen was meant to be here the whole time right?

Managing your BBL SC team is bloody hard work when you're down at the beach for four nights. Had planned to trade Maxi but swapped it to Matt Short last minute when I saw he was out with a broken toe and then made Overton C after deciding not to go with Chief VC. Also traded Edwards who I would've swapped with Stoinis had I seen he was playing so got quite lucky there.

Managed to climb to 163 in the rankings after last round but would surprised if I stayed that high after this round!

Need big games from Overton, Ferg and Brown to make up for game 1.

Yep, here the whole time - I think his ability to be a wicket keeper is only incase of emergency, very occasional.

Just looking for a reason for the Scorchers to not play Hurst tbh (with Inglis injured) :p:LOL:

Looks awful with the bat & his keeping is sub standard, really not sure why we recruited him as he is nowhere near the level required in my opinion.

My Walter vs Stoinis decision basically ruined the round. Went into the round hoping for a big score with 10 planned DGRs. Now going to be my worst round of the season unless I can get saved tonight by my 8 players. Bethell & O Pope need to step up in particular being my lowest 2 scores.

Yeah they'd need to draft someone in.

Just seems a little mean to me. Yeah we don't think you're good enough to play, but can you stay around for the next 5 days...
