Yeah its a fair point. Personally I don't like having locked in trade outs as too much can change (teams, weather, etc), so having the ability to pivot is useful. Always good to have a plan, but what are the consequences if it doesn't work out. I would also question if using a trade this round for a 1 game score is worth it given the variability of big bash scoring. A lot of people were thinking similar with Doggett the week before his bye and he scored 5..
Totally agree , need to be flexible even more so now with weather concerns seemingly more frequent.

I guess it depends a lot whether you are just trading Round by Round or looking ahead as well.

Sometimes it can be hard to even find players to trade out each round especially if they are of benefit in upcoming rounds.

With the introduction of the Flex our thinking has quickly changed , maybe it is more beneficial some rounds just to get 11 to play and hold onto a player.

Scored 888 which had me ranked 139th for the week and back up to 4th overall from 23rd which is the same position i was before a poor score in round 5. Sutherland, Rogers, Warner, Ferguson, Zampa and Maxwell were all huge. Glad Stoinis could nab a couple of wickets as my captain. A 50/50 decision between Warner and Connolly went the right way after seeing the weather forecast for tomorrow before the round started but deciding to loop Warner instead of Bethell cost me 25 points which might be costly.

Bit of a conundrum with trades. Decision is to get 3 hurricane blokes and forego looping if Scott returns/only be able to take highest score from bat or bowl bench if he remains out. Or get a late round player in Neser, Webster or Bartlett and open up flexibility and a late round vc/c play but have one less hurricane for next week (likely skip McDermott). Tough decision especially since the wkp spot is my weakest position with Seifert going poorly so a dgw option there is enticing. But do i trust myself to field the right players tonight/give myself the ability to avoid some low scores. Also would need to weigh up having too many Stars players next round plus Doran and Scott as deadwood as well as potential weather concerns. Think Webster as a one week play is fine but i'd want atleast a bat and bwl emergency next week to give myself the ability to loop/have extra cover.

what the weather forecast for the 6ers vs scorchers because it looks as though it should clear up in time for the game. Just wondering as it would help me decide which players to trade out very much.

Aside from local updates from SCS members who live close by in the hours leading up to the game, your guess is as good as anyone's. Some sources don't look great and others look fine. Personally I think these weather decisions should be a personal choice using the resources freely available until we are much closer to game time and local knowledge becomes relevant.

That said, it's worth noting there was conflicting information in the 30 mins leading up to lockout the other night, so it really can be a lottery.

I would say back in what you think is most likely and if you're wrong, at least you know you made your own call.

Another poor round from me (due to my own mistakes and missing information like rain!)

Billing to smith
Zampa to Konstas
W.Agar to Sutherland.

Trying to stack the team with good single round players as much as possible and smith and konstas are both cheap. Might be squeezed later due to it though.

Any help much appreciated (and very much needed!)

Can’t really tell you at this relatively early point, but previously I’ve been looking at the weather radar and making educated guesses based on what I can see.

The other night, the rain only had one break in it, which was exceedingly poor timing as it was just 2-3hrs before the game before rain continued.

You can use Weatherzone to give you a break up of expected rain (see below), but my experience is you can get some pretty big swings in expected falls.

Here's Sydney tomorrow:

For those looking to target Webster this round, it's worth remembering the Stars have a bye next round. So not only do you not want get caught out carrying too many non playing players, but also you'll only get 2 scores from him vs 4 from a Hurricane. Worth factoring in to plans, as you'd need him to have 2 solid games when up against 4 scoring opportunities.
You can also look at it as he has four opportunities batting and bowling. Not many in the Hurricanes have a dual role and could be some showers in their second game.
I own two and can get to five in the round of.
Wade - Has a history of missing
Owen - Just an opener now
McDermott - Better option and would've been better as keeper as well.
Jewell/Wakim - Not sure just cheap
Chaudhary - Hasn't bowled heavily but dual role.
David - Cheap slogger
Jordan - Potential for a hit and decent bowling role.
Ellis - Can get a hit and has the better bowler role.
Dooley/Hatz - Do either play both
Meredith - Bowler
Stanlake - Bowler

Just checking , is that weather concern for the Round 8 HH v MR game or BH v HH game ?
