Nah I wish. I had him in one of my million preseason teams but settled with Harper in the forward line instead...sickening. I don't think anyone on the site has him actually which is a shame because you'd be laughing with a Monfries, Wingard, Wines set up in the mids.

I'm a bit annoyed at myself too, but what deterred me what his midfield position. Oh well.

Don't think you should be annoyed at all.

This season, you can't really go wrong with any Port Adelaide players really!

Question - if you had the cash (i got 260k) i need to dump kreuz; it will be for leuy. leaves a good amount of cash.

i'm really considering dropping k.mitchell fro wingard.. BE is -54. crouch has a BE of -66

-54 is one of the best out there, i don't feel i need another rookie generating money, but the points chad is producing coupled with the fact he will make money has me tempted to use him as a stepping stone...

kreuz to leuy and mitchell to wingard leaves me with 169k as well.

i realise he has generated 80k already but i still don't feel its a bad buy at 350k considering the BE and the GC this week to hopefully keep his value rising..

I got in Mullett last week, he made 67k already and Wingard is in this week. If they can keep anything around 100ppg up for the next four or five games I will be very happy and their value will be around 500-550k, enough to go to a true premium pretty easily.
Basically an expensive cash cow. It does cost me trades, but with so many this year it might just be worth it.
It sounds good in theory, but it will all depend on if they can actually keep playing this well - even if its only for a few weeks..

A bit left of centre, but I like your approach, could well reap dividends.

Even though I missed the first price rise, I'm thinking of getting Wingard as a very short stepping stone to Pendlebury.
I can afford to bring Pendlebury in straight away, but I'm just a bit gun shy given the rumours, his history of leg problems, and the short back up for Anzac Day. I just feel Pendlebury's too big a risk right now. So I need to bring in someone with a softish draw (Port have GC, WC, Nth - Nth traditionally give up SC scores, they are a FTB team), a chance to score around 100+ (He's in form and doing that), and have a low B/E to guarantee I don't lose cash (his B/E is still -66, and is the lowest B/E of all the potential 100+ Mids).
Some will say it is crazy, and if Pendlebury sails through the next 2 or 3 games unscathed, I might look a bit silly. I just think "where there's smoke, there is fire", and I'd rather play it safe. He will come in for Mitchell, and while I could take Crouch instead, I am more confident of starting Wingard on the ground, and Crouch will take more than the 2 or 3 weeks I intend to keep Wingard, to moo.

But it doesn't really matter if you trade out Crouch or another rookie. You could trade JOM instead for example once he reaches ~350k in 3 weeks? There may only be a certain number of mid rookies to downgrade to at that stage for example, so you may not want too many players moo-ing at the same time. Something to think about, even though it may be slightly besides the point.

But the reasoning for Wingard is strong anyway, if he keeps his average (I doubt he will, but he may come close especially given the softish draw) he will increase value by the same as Crouch if he scores his average. In this time though, you gain the difference in points between Wingard and your M8, which for arguements sake is 20-30ppg. Over 4 weeks that's equal to covering a zero...
It could also fail, but you would just lose a trade.

Rowsus, who are you trading out for Wingard?

K Mitchell, and it will be to Pendlebury if I can get past the rumours, or to Wingard if I can't. I need Wingards points over Crouch's, that would be the deciding factor over choosing between those two.

ps - I'm betting against the bomb (JOM) getting to $350k in 3 weeks, but I hope he does! :)

rowsus, i grabbed wingard for k mitchell myself for similar reasons. have had cash in the kitty and chad with his BE and average is ideal atm and still have 170k - bodes well for an upgrade early too. but i will be bringing in swan most likely as i already have pendles. will target cotch of deledio after rd 11.

i do rate crouch but really he will be a 70-80 average yea?

and i don't think JOM will be 350k in 3 weeks either FWIW

i intend to swap out JJK to buddy in afew weeks once the hawks play teams where buddy will be FTB - really rated that article BTW!

After his 100 today, if he averages 80 over the next 3 weeks from now he will be about 350k. That makes 4 weeks total.
But Wingard only 95 today.. 5 more and I would have been happy

It's interesting.
SC Gold have him scoring 77 (at the moment, so it is close to your 80 per week).
Using their 77's, they have his price going:
Rnd 4: $246,500
Rnd 5: $271,400
Rnd 6: $306,500
Rnd 7: $332,900

Given we know he got his 100 this week, a rough approximate of 80/week goes:
Rnd 4: $256,900 (for his 100) (~B/E 12 - just my guestimation)
Rnd 5: $287,500 (~B/E -18)
Rnd 6: $331,100 (~B/E 35)
Rnd 7: $351,100

All in all, I would have to say, that you adjusted projection of 4 weeks, with 80/game from here on, is roughly spot on!
Super effort, Tracy. :)

Yep Wingard one of very few shining lights of hope in my team this year.

Hats off to Jay for the article last year predicting his success.
