Gill wasting time hoping for one less over before lunch gets himself out. Probably should have just played it out and backed himself.

Ideally they would hold off on lunch/tea breaks until the full amount of overs have been bowled in a session and it won't be an issue.
Khawaja does the same thing (delaying just before a break in play) and also gets out.

I thought Bumrah was going to knock him out , lucky the umpire stepped in

Did you read the altercation between Gill , Labuschagne and Smith before lunch ?
Yeah, I heard the audio on Fox re Gill.

I am a little confused as to why the Indians are getting so worked up about the 19 year old kid. Almost seems as though they can't get over the fact that he has hit a few boundaries against Bumrah.

Because they are fragile. They are treated like gods in their own country and struggle when someone challenges that narrative. I think that is a flaw in how they approach their cricket but it doesn't help when a lot of the people at the top of Indian cricket think the same way. But there is no doubt they will always be power to be reckoned with in the foreseeable future as they have the sheer weight of population and a love of the game.
