Where are people's thoughts regarding the top defenders?

I started Howe and Doch, so i'm happy there. Sicily did ok R2.

I also have Houston, who is less impressive and on my way-out radar.

Classics like Lloyd scored very well, but e.g. Hurn dropped off in R2. I haven't seen (m)any games yet - keen to hear thoughts as to who you see washing up near the top?

My last correction from my Rd1 team will be to trade out J Dawson, and I just can't afford Lloyd with the one trade, so I am looking for a replacement in Defence, as I only have 2 DEF Keepers in Sicily and Docherty. At the moment, I'm leaning to GEE's Stewart, as I think he will be a top 6 DEF

Hardest line for me to understand at the moment. Might be the last one I try to fill.

Tossing up bringing in a top end defender this week myself...and have been wondering similar.

Quite keen on Stewart from the cats....think he will be top 8 come seasons end

I am weighing up bringing in Howe v Lloyd v Stewart this week for what it's worth

Yea i'm torn.

Def = a few interesting cheapies (Ridley is on my radar) but I can imagine getting list clogged quickly. Howe aside, inconsistency prevails.

Mids feels like a lot of money for players who aren't scoring like premos.

Rucks = points fest.

Feels like value in Fwds, but rarely do midpricers ever really work out. Expect we'll want Whitfield etc. by season's end.Fwds,

Yeah. I think Whitfield will be a top forward but won't average as much as previous years with the shortened quarters so happy to wait for a price drop.

The scoring appears to be a lot more volatile so I'm being even more of a tight ass this year and waiting for prices to drop.

I do think the accumulators like Laird and Daniel will struggle.

I can see Ridley, Andrews and Hunter Clark being budget D6's.

Just noticed Lloyd is averaging 111 and has a breakeven of 111 yet is a 49% chance of achieving his breakeven! Rounding error?

Any Laird owners out there? Becoming a bit of a worry for me. Not him specifically but I’m not sure if his role is going to be conducive to good scores in the side he’s playing in.

Was very close to trading him to Howe last week and would be lying if I said I didn’t regret not doing it. My Def line consists of Hurn Laird Sic & Doc and I can’t say I’m overly confident in either Laird or Sic to hit 95 though I’d be more confident in Sic of the two. Doesn’t seem like the season to mess about but I can’t help but feel like it may be a wasted trade.

Crows have been so bad but I think they will eventually somewhat turn it around (maybe not win but at least be more competitive).

Gold Coast this round so surely Laird is under less pressure than the last couple of rounds.

I have him too and am happy enough to hold. Not all your premiums race out of the blocks and I feel like Laird can have some reversion scores at some stage to still finish on a 95 ish avg.

Anyone have thoughts/comments on Maynard?
Currently playing like a 100 gamer ?, averaging 111, could be a spike year, I'd think his average might drop to a 90-95. Previous seasons look all over the place, but his role and run out of defense is first class.
