Had the same decision, of course I left the 25 pts on the bench. Missing the start of the first game and keeping Trippier on field because of it swayed me a bit, but should have gone with the 2-5-3 in the end (which I rarely use this season).

Yeah it was solely due to matchups. Watford are poo & Villa have been playing well over the last month. Having Digne & Coutihnho last night hurt

Villa has only won 1 (against Everton) from 5 PL matches in 2022 prior to last night's match against Watford and also lost their 3rd round FA Cup match to Man United during that period. The honeymoon period is definitely over as far as raising their levels with a new coach, even with their new signings. Their defense can be too easily breached at times and seems to don't have more than a plan A for any given matchday.
With their recent preference to operate a dual WB's system, they really need at least 1 accountable holding midfielder to sit in front of their 2 CB's, Luiz does not exactly fit that bill at the moment.

Still around Tso, just lost a bit of interest after all the covid cancelled matches around December and haven't been on until now. I can assure you no one has taken over my team, I would like to use that excuse though as I fall down the rankings!
