Sam Gray?? Came home like a machine, and now with no sub risk should he be someone we should be locking in if he stays fit throughout the pre-season?
Nice find. His finish looks to coincide with when Wines went down for the year so it'll be tough for him to get that same midfield time again next year.

My concern is his pricetag after just 7 and then 10 games last year. It's too big a risk especially with Wines back for me.

And potentially Polec also you'd have to think.

Jed Adcock? Priced at 62, averaged 21 games at 91 from 2011-13. Has just turned 30 and has def DPP. Any view on what the Dogs will use him for?

Does anyone else think that Libba returning will effect Dahlhaus' midfield time or SC scores?

Best forward line news I have seen in the last week is that Tom Mitchell is NOT one. It will be nice not to be burned by him (or Longmire) whatever I do this year!!

Dare I say it, we might be spoilt for choice with who wants to go in the centre square during the bounce. Bulldogs have a lot of Etihad games early on and regardless of Libba coming back, Dahl will score well. Dahl was one of the first picks in my team. Here is a supporter that wants his team to do well. I'd say Libba might hurt Wallis/Picken more than anyone. We have used those two as taggers before and may use them again in the same way in 2016. Libba and Bont may be our inside midfielders with Dahl as an outside runner.

Chad wingard vs bennell vs martin
Who would be best scorer at seasons end?
If they were to all play 23 games, it would be Dusty, Bennell, Wingard in that order.
It's just a matter of how many games, particularly Bennell plays, or more so misses.

Am torn between two strategies for Forwards this year.

Option 1: Splash the cash for 3-4 established guns (Martin, Dahlhaus, Zorko, Bennell)

or

Option 2: 2x guns (Dusty Martin, Dahlhaus) and 2 x roughies (Crisp, Christensen, Greene)

What are people going with this year?

Welcome savvy, option 1.5 for me. 3 proven and 1 mid pricer.

Still haven't been able to feel 100% on my 3 premos though.

I like option 2.

I think the forwards have a heap of value options this year.

Right now I'm running a setup which consists of one 550k+, one 500k+, one 450k+, one 400k+, one 300k+ and then three rookies.

Definitely will be the hardest position next season for me to confidently predict. If I knew Deledio and Martin were going to play every game I'd pick them now and never reconsider. Martin will probably not play round 1 and Deledio will probably miss 2-4 games, which makes him at his 609k pricetag hard to pick.

Barlow should be a fairly safe pick.

With Treloar leaving I reckon Devon Smith might play as a mid a bit more and ave close to 100.

I'll closely watch Jack Martin. Think he can average 90s given he had a 36, 5 and 32 due to injuries and averaged nearly 87 in his other 9 games. Probably need to see him bulk up a bit over the pre-season.

I think Ben Kennedy will average 70s when given a genuine chance at Melbourne, which makes him a decent cashcow at his price.

Sounds very similar to me Ben. I have Martin, Barlow, Boomer, Greene and then Wells plus rookies. If a decent R2 pops up, I will move Leuey to F5, which would make our structures identical. All but Martin look cheap to me, although all come with some concerns. I guess that's the classic trade-off.

Is anyone interested in Roughy? Consistently 95 and up over the last five years, and typically plays 20 or more. Priced at 96.

I think Jurn Stern had a theory about McEvoy playing as lone ruck for Hawthorn given the changes to the rules this year, in which case I would expect Roughy to get more hitouts again. He managed less than one per game in 2014-15, but 7-10 in 2011-12, when he averaged over 100 SC.

You could be on to something with subs been abolished, remember Hale is gone now also.

ADCOCK No! No! No! One of my pods last year and was dreadful. He and Lumumba I will attribute my worst result in 6 years. And I bloody stuck with them for a lot longer than I should have too...

Haha - thanks Obie, happy to put a line through him on that basis! Any interest in the other mid-priced forwards?

Wells is interesting at $244k. I hadn't really noticed him yet but will pay close attention to his Pre season performance. Obviously a few rough years with injury and never a really high scorer and getting old, but could deliver some value if he's fit and firing.
He is a bit mid priced though, so I would probably want him to score 90+ to make it worthwhile.
