Random question (me misses is asking me for some reason). Anyone know who sponsored the preseason games before NAB?

– The competition sponsor for 1979–1984 was actually the cigarette manufacturer W.D. & H.O. Wills – "Escort" and "Sterling" were brand names used by the company during this period.

– The 1995–2001 competitions were officially named the "Ansett Australia Cup" but are more commonly referred to as the "Ansett Cup".

– Similarly, the 2002–2005 competitions were officially named the "Wizard Home Loans Cup" but are usually referred to as the "Wizard Cup".

– National Australia Bank currently hold naming rights for the competition until 2010, renaming it the "NAB Cup".

I think there is something wrong with my SC Gold as well - is showing me as not paid up ?? I notice that the menue options on my phone have changed, so maybe they have rolled out a software update and it has affected the SC Gold link?

Erm, well this is a worry. I was gonna sign up to Gold today for kickback Friday and the weekend..lol

SC Gold seems to be back working again.

If I remember correctly the 1980 Escort Cup was the grand final between North Melbourne and Collingwood. I think crowd were running on ground. Kerry Good took a mark and maybe after siren with crowd around him on ground he kicks a goal to beat Collingwood.

Bloody priceless after Carlton beat Collingwood by 5 points in previous real season...lol
So many fond memories of little kid of this era. Used to love the Escort Cup this time of year as it would be played around now and you would see it on FREE TO AIR tv. Every game.

I found mine didn't work initially until i logged out and logged back in again, maybe try that.

I thought it was quite a pretty bronzy/orange/gold with white.

My wife says purple and coffee colour but very very very ugly.

I am colour deficient red/greens - so I'm not surprised I see something different to other people. I owned and wore a pair of comfy and cool brown jeans for about a year, before I found out they were green when someone admired my green jeans...
