so will all players be discounted by 10%? because i will be a lot happier with the top 10 or some being reduced in price.
All pricing is relative. If Ablett is 10% cheaper, then all players are 10% cheaper. The pricing is a direct proportion of their end of season average, then discounts for low game counts are applied. In 2012 and 2013 the opening prices were 5350 x end of season average, this season looks like being around 4800 x end of season average.

10% is 10% but assuming there's 3 extra players and a $10mil salary cap, if you spend the bare minimum on the 3 extra positions say 3 x $100k rookies that could give you around effectively an extra $700k to spend assuming all players are are 10% cheaper across the board. Depends on how you want to set your team up but if you make the rookie positions cheap as non playing dpp rookies you could have an extra $600k premium and $100k to upgrade another player. And the dpp rookies set up right might give you enough flexability to remain competitive, they just won't be any good as emergencies.

Personally, I like all of my players to play Rd. 1, be that 30 or 33 players. The first two rounds I have used in the past for rookie swapping. Remember rookies is where you make your money, if there are 3 more next year, well and good. A few DPP rookies will be nice to have.

Definitely agree with you there, having your rookies as round 1 starters is a must.

Can't wait to see the conclusion of this thread ie. Round 1, Rowsus' SC team based on his analysis of the past 3 winners; Round 1 teams.

Not long now till the official one comes out....if you have a 2013 subscription to SC Gold, you can start configuring your lineup in early January.

Some time in Decmeber actually :D
The Champion Data 2014 prospectus is due in mid-December, so you would think it would be going to print about now, which would suggest all the data etc has been finalized. So maybe we could expect SC Gold to open up in the next 2 weeks or so?

Last year the "leaks" began around the 23rd November, with news of the new DPP's like NicNat. It does seem strange we haven't heard anything yet, but I'm sure they have some surprises waiting for us!

Congrats on the 1,000 Courtesans, I'm defintiely sure more than 37.5 of them made sense to me! :)

There still may be some final adjusts to some lists. I read last week Freo may add an Irish guy to rookie list and have until about mid December to do it.

Congratulations. Personally, you're one of my favourite contributors.

I was thinking this morning how it was around this time last year there was a survey asking for ideas and feedback. Then this arvo I noticed a post on the Supercoach facebook page how there is a survey asking for feedback and ideas on "how Supercoach looks and works".

The survey link on their facebook page doesn't work, but the banner link on the RHS of the HS Footy webpages does work - something about going in the draw to win an Xbox.

The survey takes around 10-15 minutes, and mainly asks about branding. It has just one question asking for any ideas and feedback on Supercoach and the survey. So I don't think they're fair dinkum about looking for and/or implementing any significant rule changes.

Seems to me they are either happy with what they had last season, or they have already settled on the 2014 version. Normally there are a few 'teasers' and 'leaks', but so far I agree, it's been vewy vewy quiet.

Last year, there were big changes to SC.
So I wonder if the reason there are no early leaks this year is due to minor changes for 2014.

Hopefully they get rid of rolling lockout to level the playing field so to speak.
