Kind of wish every week was a bye round. Only rounds I seem to excel in for some reason.

Anybody know how long it takes for the law of averages to kick in? I should be in for a bumper back 9.

Sad to hear the last podcast from JR.
Enjoyed the humour which made the weekly disasters we all have in SC bearable.

Big shame that. I wouldn't be surprised if he's pick up and up and going in some form again next year. Need the laughs in this gig and almost all the other podcasts from social media are pretty average

Feeling a bit empty this morning :(
The JR site and podcast were the first real source of SC information I discovered when I started playing a few years ago and really engendered a sense of community (especially important as most of my friends don't play). I don't really use the site any more as SCS has much better information and discussion, but I still loved listening to the podcast on a Sunday night as part of the weekly cycle to round out the weekend. I will miss it a lot and I hope they can get it up and running again some time in the future.

Was actually pretty shattered. Never listened to it for the advice but the show was genuinely hilarious and always cheered me up on a Monday morning after a poor supercoach weekend. Hopefully they bring it back next year.

I only started listening to them a few weeks back , certainly good for a laugh.
Think I only heard it once last year but when I did it sounded like some of humour was inspired from years ago by Guru Bob on the ABC radio.
I remember him having some funny footy wisdom's. "Inside every good player is a **** player waiting to break out"...lol. loved it back in the day.
I think it used to run back in the late 1980's but was not a regular listener but was funny when I caught it a few times. Whomever Crouching Tiger was , was running with that type of humour inspired from Guru Bob. The put on voices were certainly inspired from all that when I heard the show once.

Got to game yesterday and there was a curtain raiser.
FMD!!!. Now there is a good idea. Pre-game entertainment. Who would have thought ?
Looked at scoreboard and it showed Carlton 2nd's side which is Norhern Blues about 23 goals to 2 in third quarter. Turns out they were playing bottom team Frankston.
Hard to work out some of our Carlton players but did not see Ciaran Byrne out there. Did see Boekhorst though and Jamison out there.
Whomever was number 11 kicks the ball well. It certainly was not Warnock....lol
Jamison looked good to go from his injury so back next week no doubt.
Someone kicked the ball from a kickout beyond the centre in last quarter. Did not quite catch whom kicked it. I sense it was Tom Fields as apparently he can kick it a long way.

Andrew Raines was listed by Ronny Lerner in The Age as Gold Coast's 3rd best player. 8 disposals, 0 tackles, 6 frees against and a match low 8 SC points (if one of us stood in the goalsquare for the entire game we'd probably kick a cheap goal and get that). Didn't do a good job tagging Cripps either.

I still can't quite believe it. Apparently he was better than Bennell who he only had as their 5th best player!

Absolutely Oz, JR's podcasts were heavily inspired by Could'aBeens and Guru Bob and other characters created by them, and I think JR did a great job appropriating the style to Supercoach. Even Wayno's call ins, the banter with Higgo and Crouching and the radio stings reminiscent of ABC radio days were cleverly used to present something entertaining and slightly informative. Great stuff, loved it, will be missed.

I was a huge fan of the JR podcast! It was really high quality and funny. It's interesting that they got sponsors, flogged magazines and offered a really modest membership where you got bonus extra monthly podcast and Still could not make a go of it. I imagine it needed to be fund able as a full time gig. For the record I bought the magazine and paid the membership out of support and appreciation.

Reminds me that we should all chip in to support the hosting of this place at the appropriate time.

Couldabeens and Guru Bob are still going on 774 by the way!

why is JR finishing up?
Family / time commitments and funding... the usual sort of thing :(
I won't comment about the funding part but I will say I totally understand the family / time commitment issues when running a website.

If you follow me on Twitter you will see, over the years I have great respect for Jock and his mates and yes I was shocked with Jock's announcement.

What the hell do Crouching One, Wayno and Higgo look like? I have always wanted to know!
