I see, my mistake. I still think he's a flog. This isn't someone's sporting reputation on the line. Simply being accused of rape can ruin someone's life. God I hate him! There's more to life than selling newspapers and getting a scoop.
Yep agree with that!

BREAKING

Sources leaked a video to A Current Affairs of Jake Carlisle snorting a white substance claiming Carlisle sent it to them on social media to boast.

A Current Affairs spoke to Carlisle's manager yesterday, and told him exactly what was in the video.

The source claims Carlisle himself & sent the vision to one of his Snapchat users, who then filmed it from another phone.

The deal between Carlisle and St Kilda was made less than 24 hrs later. According to St Kilda, Carlisle manager failed to mention the video.

So we've just had formal dinner here at my college. And apparently our Hawks mad vice principals daughter is the girl who broke the story.

So apparently his manager was aware and just didn't tell St Kilda. Of course as the recipient you do your due diligence, but obviously something like this would be well out of scope. If the seller (Bombers / his management) had knowledge of this and chose not to disclose it there should be some kind of penalty. Seems extremely rough for the event to occur while he's an Essendon player and then have St Kilda wear the consequences.

Yep Saints would not be happy, here's Jake Carlisle's statement.

I have made a very poor decision and let people down and for that I am embarrassed and truly sorry. First, I would like to apologise to all St Kilda members, supporters and staff, AFL fans as well as my new teammates.

I am aware of footage being aired of me last night and I want to be upfront and say that I made a mistake.

The video casts me in a very poor light and reveals clearly inappropriate behaviour which I regret but am accountable for.

I know that in a few weeks’ time when I join St Kilda I’m going to be expected to be open and honest with my new club so want to start by confirming my error of judgment right now.

St Kilda have shown great confidence in me and when I start with them I will need to earn their respect and win back the confidence of the playing group and broader Saints community.

I will learn from my mistake and when I return to Australia I will commit to any Club or AFL requirements or educational programs.

Again, I apologise for my behaviour and stress that when I join my new Club, I will do everything I can to live up to the standards and values they are building at St Kilda.

Wonder if the Bombers knew, especially considering there has already been a lot of talk this week about Essendon being the worst club to deal with. I wonder how much "good will" actually plays a part in trade week anyway. Is everyone just trying to screw everyone else, or do we see year to year 'favors' between clubs?

I doubt it. Carlisle cut all ties with the Club immediately as soon as he officially said he was leaving. Another player a couple of weeks ago said that Carlisle hadn't even spoken to any other player since. A few days ago when talking about the Hawks offer Dodoro stated that he hadn't actually spoken to Carlisle, only dealt with his manager. Carlisle burnt all the bridges with Essendon.

Finnis says Essendon had no information for any cause of concern about this coming to light or any potential previous indiscretions

In general though it is widely known and has been heavily reported this week that Essendon are one of the worst clubs to deal with this week. I heard them ask the exact question to Dodoro (I think) and again to Chris Pelchan on SEN this morning. I wonder if it eventually ends up hurting you building up all of this bad blood.

Pfffff, not really worried at all. The media and general public have been harping and banging on about Essendon being 'Notoriously difficult to deal' with for years/decades. We hear and read about it over 1,000 times every single year. There was a bit of truth to it, especially back in the Kevin Sheedy days when we would make some ridiculous offers. In more recent years from what various people in the footy recruiting industry tell me it's more about the length of time it sometimes takes to get deal done that can annoy some people. So what.

This bad reputation or bad blood didn't seem to stop the Melksham and Giles deals from happening relatively pain free. As for the Carlisle deal the Saints didn't put in an offer until the fifth day, Dodoro rightly rejected it and five days later he manged to get a far better deal. As for this ACA stuff the ACA report itself said they told Carlisle's manager about it, it doesn't mention telling either Club.

The rumour going around is that the Carlisle footage is from after he signed on with the Saints and the person who gave him up got paid $10k for it. Also rumoured to have a few texts from Carlisle which he is trying to get money for.

Is anyone really surprised?

From an observational stand point, he has always looked a complete ****.
Great physical capability to be A-grade, but has always lokoed a dumb player...poor decision making, poor leading patterns etc.

Still, I would not be surprised if he is still a big hit at ST Kilda.
They bought potential and he does bring that in doses.

Definitely has the potential but you're right, just lacks the smarts at the moment. I believe he'll be playing down back at St Kilda which should make life a lot easier for him vs playing forward. I reckon it's the least of his worries atm though lol

Yeah fair call. I guess it's a matter of trying to improve your culture and trying to stay out of the headlines for the wrong reasons. God knows, as an Essendon supporter that's all i'm hoping for my boys post WADA.

What an absolute bloody Scum bag. Needs a bit of street justice imo. You don't do your mates like that no matter who they are.

From the AFL website

RECENTLY retired Hawthorn premiership player David Hale has made an immediate move into coaching, joining Fremantle coach Ross Lyon's team of assistants for 2016.

The Dockers have made three new appointments, with Hale joined by fellow Hawthorn premiership player Brent Guerra and experienced coach Anthony Rock.

The new coaches hold six premierships between them, with Hale and Guerra in particular bringing valuable intellectual property from the Hawks' premiership three-peat under coach Alastair Clarkson.

Rock played in North Melbourne's 1996 premiership and has since spent more than a decade coaching at AFL, VFL and TAC Cup level.

The new appointments are to replace Simon Lloyd, who has joined Geelong as director of coaching, and Brett Kirk, who has returned to the Sydney Swans as an assistant coach.

"David, Brent and Anthony each have key football and coaching qualities, and will be valuable additions to our club," football manager Chris Bond said.

"They have decades of experience at the game’s most elite level and we look forward to them joining our coaching team and the valuable input they will have at the club."

Hale has played in the Hawks' past three premierships and moves straight into coaching after 237 games with the Hawks and North Melbourne.

Guerra played in the Hawks' 2008 and 2013 premierships and said he was looking forward to working alongside Lyon.

Rock played 222 games for the Kangaroos and Hawthorn and worked with Lyon at St Kilda in 2007 and 2008 as midfield coach.

He coached North Ballarat in the TAC Cup and also had stints at Melbourne (2005-06) and North Melbourne (2009) as an assistant coach either side of his time with the Saints.

Rock coached Greenvale in the Essendon District Football League to successive premierships in 2012 and 2013.

He then joined St Bernard's in the Victorian Amateur Football Association and capped a two-year stint with a premiership this season.

This has made me a bit excited. If you can't get Clarkson, get everyone else from Hawthorn. I'm genuinely hoping that Ross can work with these guys to improve our ball movement and scoring.
