I found a link in last year’s 2015 General Thread at post #88 by Damoz. I can’t copy it across, but it looks like it is linking to the current 2016 offer and includes SC Gold in the bundle for $25 total. I'm just not sure that the Digital Pass includes the Live Scores, so best to check that out before signing up. (I'm going to look into it further also).

The offer seems to include the following:

Unrestricted Digital Access Features

•Offer available until 30 June 2016.
•52 weeks of Unrestricted digital access on desktop and mobile, which starts on sign up.
•The Herald Sun iPad app.
•Subscription to foxsports.com.au.
•SuperCoach Gold · AFL.
•The Herald Sun Digital Print Edition.

Now to just find out if we get access to Live Scores. I think last year I may have just contacted them and clarified if it included it or not. I vaguely remember exchanging emails mid-lecture hahahaha :p

Its interesting - now that I look back at last year I can see that I registered for Gold at the start of Feb. I would have expected my Gold subscription to have expired by now (ie 12 months) however it still seems to be working. Not really sure what to make of that

Edit - looking at this further, it seems that I am on the Trial SC Gold subscription. Presumably this will expire prior to the start of the season :p

Don't we all have the free trial of SC Gold on our SC atm??

I checked my account and subscription details, my HS Digital pass which I signed up for on March 29 last year ends on March 26 this year.

Probably. I hadn't really thought about it until now - lol

Try given them an email. I'm a teacher and it wasn't until a colleague gave them a email that they produced a teacher offer for 2016. Two weeks latter we have promotional material in the staffroom. I suspect they were going to discontinue these type of deals but decided against this at the last minute.

Steven steps up as Saints leader despite voting snub

ST KILDA midfielder Jack Steven has embraced the message from his teammates to step up and join the leadership group, his coach Alan Richardson says.

Steven wasn't voted in by his teammates but the club's leaders, including Richardson and football manager Jamie Cox, decided the two-time Trevor Barker medallist needed to be included.

St Kilda’s leadership group is decided by a vote from the whole playing squad.

Steven - one of St Kilda’s best players but also one of its quietest - wasn’t initially selected but the leadership group, in conjunction with Richardson and Cox, asked Steven to officially become a leader.

Captain Nick Riewoldt said Steven needed to assume that responsibility.

"The really encouraging part about … the conversations with Jack was he wanted to know why was it important for him to come into the group," Riewoldt said.

"I think he understands the influence he has over the rest of the playing group."

Steven emerged as one of the competition’s best midfielders in 2015 - he led the competition in inside-50s per game and was fifth in tackles per match.

Riewoldt touted Steven as a potential future captain.

"Jack Steven has been our best player for a few years now and is a really influential guy around the group," he said.

"I’m sure as his leadership grows he can see himself transitioning into (the captaincy)."

The 25-year-old is the reigning best-and-fairest and won his first in 2013. He is contracted until the end of 2020.

His coach said the dynamic midfielder led by example.

"(Steven) has such an influence around our playing group. He is his own man. He leads absolutely by example," Richardson said.

"There’s no-one better in our footy club in terms of the enthusiasm and the passion and the drive in which he plays the game, and in the way he trains."

The high esteem in which Steven is held by his teammates helped convince him that he could be effective in a leadership position.

"I love the St Kilda footy club and it’s an honour to represent them in a leadership capacity," Steven said.

"Obviously I can develop in (some) areas but the way I’ve been playing lately really represents the footy club in a good way."

You definitely get live scores with a digital subscription (or did last year). Supercoach Gold doesn't get you live scores if memory serves.

Correct pretty much all gold gives you is a projected score and expected price rises and decreases for said scores.
Its ok but im not sure its worth the $20 when you can get this info off any one of these great sites that so many people are dedicated to all you need to do is ask the question

I had the digital pass last year because of the increased prize money (bit presumptuous) but can't see the benefit this year.

I really hope they replace him with some new talent and not some recycled has been. Further by talent I mean someone who actually calls the game acturately with the right amount of information and doesn't try to be all matey, jokes and pals with the follow commentators.

Lewis Jetta doing a heap of work as the 'sweeper' down back at @WestCoastEagles training. Looks very sharp.

could they convince BT it would be a good idea to retire too??
Hopefully Dennis takes Bazil & BT with him!
Completely agree.

BT appears to be a horrible person and is definitely a horrible commentator. He thinks he is funny but he's anything but. The flirting that goes on between he and Richo makes me sick.

Basil is just plain annoying and dat nose... I mean, come on. Also, has anyone else noticed he gets spit in the corner of his mouth when he speaks and doesn't get rid of it? Not cool Basil, not cool.

Would be great if Tim Lane could just commentate every game.
