WA today reports that Channel Nine is planning a secret rescue mission to save the E.J. Whittens Legends Game and plans to host a match that would raise finds for both the men's health charity and the Shane Warne Foundation.
To avoid an legal dispute over the right to the "legends game" name, the new match will be called "The Footy Show All Stars Game" and will feature two teams of retired players celebrities.
Nine plans to donate 100% of all gate takings from Etihad Stadium to the to chosen charities, which will raise a estimated $400,000 for each of the two partners.
Nine will pay all the costs of staging the game, and donate the entire gate receipts to charity.
Nine plans to broadcast the All Star Game, with a Victorian team representing the EJ Whitten Foundation and an All Stars team, raising funds for the Shane Warne Foundation.
The game would not be staged by the EJ Whitten Foundation, which would merely be a beneficiary of the match.

Richmond's Dustin Martin was told to leave a Chapel St restaurant on Saturday night after being drunk and offensive to other diners.
A female customer at the restaurant called the club on Monday to complain about the behaviour of the senior player who was drunk and offensive to her and others at the restaurant.
The Tigers player, who has been punished by the club in the past for drunken incidents, was asked by management of Mr Miyagi Japanese restaurant to leave after he upset customers with his behaviour,
Sober and contrite on Monday, Martin called the female customer who complained about him and apologised to her for his behaviour.

STRIKERS SIGN DUAL-ATHLETE FOR BBL|05

Keath trades Crows for Strikers this summer in historic deal

The Adelaide Strikers have created history today by signing dual athlete Alexander Keath for this season's KFC Big Bash League. Keath, an ex-Victorian and Melbourne Stars allrounder who is currently a listed rookie with Australian Football League club Adelaide, will swap the footy studs for the cricket spikes this summer as the first player contracted by both an AFL and BBL club. "We’re excited to have Alex on board with us this summer as he’s another allrounder that can really put a match in our favour with either bat or ball," South Australia Cricket Association High Performance General Manager, Tim Nielsen said. "As someone who’s already made his BBL debut with the Stars, we’re confident that he’ll provide healthy competition for a spot in our eleven and add extra depth to our side."

Keath, 23, played four matches for the Melbourne Stars before leaving cricket for Aussie Rules, moving to Adelaide and signing a Category B rookie contract with the Crows in October. But that hasn't stopped the tall allrounder from dominating the West End Premier Cricket competition, averaging 104.33 for Prospect District Cricket Club with a top score of 144 against Adelaide University. Keath will return to pre-season with the Crows at the end of the Strikers' BBL campaign under new head coach Jason Gillespie.

Taylor, 20, and his childhood friend Geordie Scott Erwin, 20, appeared in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Thursday to plead guilty to charges of criminal damage and theft.
The pair will avoid a criminal conviction if they're of good behavior for 12 months, both donate $500 to the State Emergency Service and each pay $5317.87 in compensation, the Warrnambool Standard reports.
Police alleged the pair were involved in trashing eight vehicles at a yard at Mortlake, where Taylor hails from in Victoria's west, 14 months ago

What was actually the go with this? Was there deliberate damage, i swear i read something a while back where the Lions had said it was a minor incident where him and his mate were pulling parts off cars in a wrecking yard and did some kind of accidental damage!

Here is a table of every player to ever average 120+ in a season in SC.
The table is sorted alphabetically, and shows what age they were when the season started.

In this table of 23 players, we can see only 4 players have recorded more than one 120+ season: Ablett (7), Swan (4), Pendlebury (4), Fyfe (2). Straight away we can see, that if Goldy is to go 120+ again, ever, he is joining pretty elite company. If you look at how these players have faired since they recorded their first 120+ season, they have played between them a further 120 seasons. Those 120 seasons average out at 104. In those 120 seasons there are:
13 seasons that were 120+ (the 4 players listed above)
32 seasons that were between 110 and 120
36 seasons that were between 100 and 110
39 seasons that were below 100
The 21 players that have recorded a 120+ season then recorded a season below 120 have averaged a drop of 16/game.
Looking at all 34 seasons where a player has averaged 120+, then played a subsequent season, the average drop is just under 10/game.
Bottom line, 120+, there are 19 one timers, and 4 multiples, and the multiples are the elite of the elite Midfielders.

Of course I do!
There are 144 players that have ever recorded a 100+ season in SC.
80 of these started their careers in or after 2005. We can only really look at those 80 players.
Here is a break up of how many seasons they played to hit their highest season average:
1 season - 1 player - 1.25% of the 80 players (Barlow)
2 seasons - 2 players - 2.50% (Macrae & Wines)
3 seasons - 7 players - 8.75%
4 seasons - 12 players - 15.00%
5 seasons - 14 players - 17.50%
6 seasons - 17 players - 21.25%
7 seasons - 12 players - 15.00%
8 seasons - 9 players - 11.25%
9 seasons - 5 players - 6.25%
10 seasons - 0 players - 0.00%
11 seasons - 1 player - 1.25% (Mundy)
So the popular numbers are 4 to 7 years, representing 68.75% of the 80 players.
I will temper this break up by saying some of them are a bit skewed.
For example, look at J Redden's averages: 65.5, 76,1, 102.9, 102.8, 98.0, 103.1, 95.5.
His peak is at year 6, and he appears at year 6 in the break up above, but it is only 0.2 above his year 3 average. I am guessing you are looking more for when players get near their peak, as an indicator as to who might be ripe for the picking. In a break up like that, he'd appear at year 3.
If you give me a variance to work with, I will rework the the table above to give a more useful outlook. I would imagine the variance to work with would be something like 4%, or even as high as 6.25%.
