You know me too well. I've given Hickey a good look as well, against GWS this week as well but alas i've already used too many trades to start messing around with the Hickey's of the world.

Thought he was fairly good 2-3 years ago then vanished and Longer was the favourite for a long time.

Geez if he gets a good crack at # 1 he should ave 90-95 and make some nice coin $$$.

English is doing OK if you have him at R3 although up against Sandi this week , if Hickey gets 90 + against Simpson.

can't see the point playing him when they don't have too.

always thought Freo should just play Sandi in home games , even more so when they had Clarke and Griffo

read years ago that players from Freo and WCE careers are shortened by 2-3 years due to the number of long haul flights and delayed recovery times , I am sure sitting on a evening flight with players covered in bags of ice would be frowned upon by airlines.

The AFL should give them a modified charter plane for flights.

I may be embarrassed when teams named later today, however Nic Nat and Sandi are different ends of the spectrum.

Eagles are trying to get Nic Nat fitness up without pushing his body too hard, hence he needs game time although in moderate levels.

Sandi is older and gets sore, hence he was to be rested last week (scheduled at start of season) except Sean Darcy was injured and they didn't feel anyone else was up to it.

As a Lycett owner, Nic Nat getting rested is a disaster as Lycett I think gets sharked more than HTA and does better as a forward target. Only think that changes this is if Nic Nat and Kreuzer are rested together and Lycett gets some 2nd tier kid to ruck against.

Chances are he’ll miss one along the way, but so will just about every other ruckman in the comp.

Amazing how different the Eagles side is from last year with just one player coming back.

Nic Nat has made a massive impact for sure, He just lifts everyone around him. The great players in whatever sport it may be all have the ability to make their teammates better, and Nic Nat certainly does that. But we've also upped out defensive pressure massively from last year and also the injection of youth has really impacted the team... You can see how they have allowed senior players like LeCras, Cripps, Masten & Darling to enjoy there footy and step up and play good footy. That young blood coming through really is infectious and when added at the right time and with the right balance, can really bring new life to the team. We have been reluctant to play our kids for several years now, So its great to see them coming through and getting game... Just a shame Venables and Ryan have long term injuries.

Was talked about as the Number 1 pick at the start of last year and most seem to think he will end up the best tall from the draft. Has been very impressive in his pre-season and WAFL games so far. Also drafted Oscar Allen who won last years Larke Medal as a key forward so we are looking very well stocked there for the future. Though there has been a bit of talk from the club about turning Allen into a big bodied Mid. He should be making his return in the WAFL this week.

I’d wager this is a pretty good opportunity for NN to get some extra minutes in the legs, maybe not in the ruck, but have him spend some extra minutes at CHF.

Carlton really stretched for talks at the minute so could walk away with a few goals too.

NN's time in ruck has slowly built up over the last few rounds whilst TOG has remained similar. The last step is as you say, to rest forward rather than the bench.
