The things going in his favour are that he doesn't pin the arms at all and that he doesn't really bury him at all. It's mostly just a falling motion.

Looks to me like his head did hit the ground but at the same time most of his weight was on top of Serong, it wasn't really a slam or sling tackle, it's all gone too far this year with the suspensions.

That would be my defence. If I was Serong I would appeal and say that I genuinely believed I was tackling my own player and as you cannot get reported for injuring your own team mate the charge would be reduced to a fine for negligence.

“Sydney coach John Longmire offered an update on Jake Lloyd who suffered a concussion in Thursday’s loss to Richmond. Longmire said: “He’s ok. Unfortunately we lose him this week. I think he was one of our best players last week. Up until he went off he had 10 possessions and he was going really well. But he’s bounced back ok, he’s fine and started to do exercise.”

Longmire also provided the latest on Chad Warner, who has missed their past two games with a calf injury. He said: “It’s unlikely he will play this week unfortunately. He is such an important player for us but hopefully he is available next week and we take it from there.”
