Groin injuries cannot be good for AFL players, this isn't looking good for Butters!

Pulled or Strained Groin: Treatment, Recovery Time, and More (healthline.com)

Recovery time
Recovery time for a groin strain injury depends on the degree of the injury.
In general, you can gauge the level of your recovery by your level of pain. As your adductor muscle is recovering, avoid activities that involve pain.
Resume activities gradually. This will enable your muscle to heal fully and prevent you from developing a recurrent groin strain injury.
The length of time you need to recover will also depend on your level of fitness before the injury. There’s no definitive time frame, since it’s different for everyone.
However, as a general guide, you can expect to rest several weeks before you’re able to return to full activities after a groin strain.
Depending on the grade of your strain, here are the estimated recovery times:
  • Grade 1: 2 to 3 weeks
  • Grade 2: 2 to 3 months
  • Grade 3: 4 months or more
Based on this info is there a chance Butters misses 2-3 weeks at best with his sore groin?

Since the scan said that Butters has been cleared of a groin injury, talk is that he has a chance to play. (They have not told us what is causing his groin soreness though, hmmm.)
IF he does play, I wouldn't risk making him a Captain selection, as it is unlikely that he plays at his best.

..........star midfielder Zak Butters sat out most of the second half with groin soreness, with the coach hoping the star midfielder would be fit for the blockbuster Saturday night clash.

“He’s a little bit sore in the groin, but that’s all – he was sore just before halftime and we’d lost Darcy with concussion,” Hinkley said.

“Zak was out there for a bit longer in the third, but in the end it was just more about he couldn’t move at his best … Zak’s very, very good, but it’s a very hard game to play if you’ve not got any movement.”..........
