I always hate the changes to the new season format of SC, although I usually get used to them after a while and then no problem...

Has anyone figured out how to do the following yet:
1. Customise the design & colours of your team icon
2. Send out League invites to prior year members?

Cheers in advance

1-7-5 so very very wonky.
I don't mind it... I just saw a lot of R14 mids... and thought you'd done alright... Just need to work out your R12 buy targets I guess... probs around 5 and perhaps a round 14 one...

I think if a gift horse R13 fallen premo comes along al la Dunkley up forward last year then you can prob buy... but I wouldn't bank/plan on it as I wouldn't want to take 9 premos from one bye round... Taking in 8 premo bye players means no more than 2 other players (excluding your FD) can be off the park for whatever reason in any bye round to field 18+ and only fielding 18 is a recipe for going backwards.

For this reason I'm considering a FDTP over Comben perhaps Draper, s.t. cash, although Essendon have a lot of Saturday games...

If you click the shield next to your team name on the main you can edit the colours and icon (from the 'AFL Home' section of the site).
No idea how to send out invites to prior members...

Just noticed that when you create a league and view it, it gives you the option to "Re-Create 2019 League". It's under the "league code/teams joined" section. Should note I'm on PC so might be different on mobile.

I'm legitimately surprised by how many teams have Dan Houston - I really thought Jordan Dawson would be a more popular pick than him. Also Houston is more popular than Laird at the moment.....o_O

Tom Lynch to Jack Steven and Merrett to Oliver is a likely change if Steven looks to be playing this year as a pure midfielder.

Hi, This'll be my very first time with AFL SC, as you'll see - but since this is the best place to start, I'm going for it.

Please help. I don't know my left from my right.

I would replace Zerrett with Dusty by having an m/f in the mids.

With my BBL SC team on the slide for about 4 rounds now and AFL SC officially open... think it's a perfect time for me to start my AFL SC preseason planning.

Haven't really researched rookies much and haven't looked at byes just yet. I'm hoping there'll be enough rookies down back so I can go with a predominantly thin backline approach.

Here's my first draft:
DEF: Houston, Docherty, Roberton, Hill, Young, Starcevich (Gould, Rivers)
MID: Neale, Fyfe, Cripps, Dunkley, Danger, Rowell, McHenry, Pickett (Valente, Bianco, Hibberd)
RUC: Grundy, Gawn (Comben)
FWD: Whitfield, Dusty, Heeney, Smith, Cockatoo, Rankine (Brander, King)
At first glance too many r13 bye players. I think this goong to be an issue for the broader SC community this year.

I can see how that would be useful in the long term by freeing up a mid spot but I think Dusty will be an early trade in target for me and trying to bring in 4 stud midfielders who are all better than Zerrett will be really difficult in terms of having enough cash.

I think Zerrett averages 110 next year and out averages Dusty by 10 per game and he's just in my team because he's the best pick at his price or cheaper. Any change to my bye structure or if I can get Steven and I will turn him into Oliver.

I also see a lot of merit in fading Dusty as a starter because he's a very patchy player and will be in everybody's side to start the year. He was averaging 78 after round 3 and 90 after round 7 last year so not starting him and getting him at a cheaper price could give you a leg up.

Thanks. Doesn’t seem to work on my iPad so I’ll wait until I’m on a PC

Nice effort first up.

Aim for 14 premiums and 16 rookies (sub say $260k)
Premiums need to be able to average
Defence 100+
Mids: 110+
Rucks: 125+
Forwards: mostly 100 with f5/6 at least 95.

Then you can spend 20 trades downgrading fattened rookies and upgrading to premiums. 10 trades for bye rounds and injuries. (Try use your upgrades across the bye rounds). Don't start more than 7 premo players from 1 bye round.

Have a look at the history of your players and see how they go against these criteria, I'm sure you'll find some changes.

Cheers

I think Dusty's 100 in the forwards is of more service than Zerrett's 110 in the mids. There seems to be a lot of monsters in the mids at the moment and not many in the forwards. I agree that Dusty can be flaky but at $540k you're not really waiting for much. If it was Dusty vs another forward premium I could understand waiting for Dusty. Even if he averages 110 Zerrett is almost a fully priced M8. Ideally your M8's are heavily discounted opportunistic picks or maybe even someone you can loop with an M9.

No worries. And only 1 floating donut... xerri not required. You'll see some midpricers floating about... Smith, TJL, Steven, Houston Dawson, etc, try not to have too many... it's just asking for trouble. You need something the closely as possible reflects the best players on each line come end of season... to keep pace with the front and it makes winning finals possible.

Dusty's got lots of home games early in season. Bank those points from the start or potentially don't even buy...if someone else looks like making the grade... (I.e. don't project second half on first half of his season avg... like Hurn last year thanks to @Rowsus)
